I remember reading he went broke with the Pioneer business he had in France ? But is that true ? He had an amazing collection at his caslte + track near Paris.
I can remember he featured in a Dutch TVshow once. They went in, filming his awesome collection and him having fun at his private little racetrack. Then he went off in his helicopter. I had no idea he went broke.
Absolutely wrong. He never went broke. He found a new wife and completely changed his life. Sold everything. Most cars were brokered by Jay Felter of TX. Some were stored for years in a special customs warehouse near Montreux, Switzerland. Marcel Massini
What did Setton have in his collection? I seem to remember he did have a 70's F1car. Pretty amazing how someone can step off such a passion and sell an entire collection.
A french magazine, Automobile, I believe had a rather extensive article on the collection. I saw his MkII GT40 in the Collier Museum in Naples, FL. He may have had some significant Matra racing cars if memory serves me correctly and his own race track!
See Cavallino #45 for an article on his collection with many good pictures. He also had a book done on the collection. Fairly large coffee table type book, Jay Felter sent me a copy. Don't have it in front of me, but I don't think there was much for text, but the pictures were pretty good. -Jarrett
thanks! Obviously I was right about the 70's F1 car Beautiful collection. Somehow, the 308GTBi looks a little out of place. A glassfibre one perhaps?
Yes, that VIN, ahead of my two steel cars, would be about right for a glass one...definately NOT a 308GTBi...one or the other is incorrect, IMO. Yes, it must have been SOME lady! LOL!
You are correct, my site needs to be updated. 21071 is a 308GTB Michelotto, which I believe were fiberglass cars, however, I'm not sure on that. NOT just a normal 308GTBi. -Jarrett
Excellent job compiling the cars of various significant collectors! If you are ever so inclined it would be interesting to see the years of ownership. Many thanks. - George

I have just spent the day with Jack Setton here in Dallas. I still represent him in the sale of the remaining cars in the collection, which now has 5 Ferrari F1 cars, 1 206 Dino, and 1 Porsche 917-30. The cars are still stored in Switzerland as Marcel says, and I go there frequently to show them to interested parties. Most people would be quite happy to be "broke" and live in the manner that Jack does. He is far from it and simply changed his direction, though not for the reasons some others have posted here. Jarrett, anytime you would like information it is as easy to get as sending me an email. Jay D. Felter
Hi Jay, Good to see you on FChat and thanks for the current update on the collection. I clearly misspoke in my post below when I said all cars have been sold. -Jarrett
Hey, Sorry for bringing up an old thread but just stumbled across it and I am very interested in finding out what happened to the track and the castle belonging to Jaque Setton? Where was it located exactly? and was it sold? Appreciate if anyone could shed some light on the issue - I missed seeing his fantastic collection! Regards, Aidan
