Aside from the Mondial, what other eventual classics would you like to sink your money in to? Here's my short list: Lamborghini Jalpa...I have a thing for unloved Italian exotics Ferrari 412i...ditto BMW 2002Tii BMW E34 M5 Alpina B12 Porsche 993, last of the air cooled 911's
Maserati 3500GT Mercedes Pagoda An early 1955+ Mercedes SL These cars are on the rise for sure. Plus they are beautiful to look at.
I think the Uracco is bargain priced right now, though it's enough of a niche car that it might not gain appreciably. Might be a nice foil for the Mondial. Downside is parts availability, upside is crazy Gandini design. 1970's Lotus and TVR seem to be bargain priced considering their limited numbers. It seems that these go-karts are largely unknown to the people who started with the Elise and Exige in this country. Just for fun with no expectation of appreciation: The 1st generation Fiat Panda and also the Lada Niva Cossack, which are just old enough to import to the US without significant effort. Finding a "good one" is the problem here. They will get a lot of attention at any car gathering. With regard to Ferrari cars, my money is on good 308GT4 examples to go through the roof. (flamesuit on) None of these are "high end" cars, but all are dirt cheap at the moment. ps: I agree on the Ferrari 412.

+1 on the Alpha GTV. I'd take a GTA too if I could find one for a reasonable price. I'm trying to think of some under appreciated gems or future classics before others jump on the bandwagon. What about vintage 60's Japanese cars like the Mazda Cosmo 110?
My collection in addition to the Mondial 8 includes-- 85, 87 X1/9s--gateway Italian mid-engine finally starting to get some recognition. 66, 68 Chrysler Newport Convertibles and a 66 New Yorker--likely have appreciated more than my deferred compensation. And a Crossfire daily driver in addition to some uninteresting truck, wife and kids cars
I have been looking for a 131 for years--preferably a wagon or coupe, I had one almost new as a student in 1979-80--nice driving car, but the few I find are rusted away, too far from home or too pricy.
Cosmo 110S, Jalpa, GTV, GTA (in that order). GTA's seem to go for mid $200k's from what I can tell. That's too much for me to invest in at my age when it comes to a collectible vehicle. I'm looking for cars that are ahead of the appreciation curve. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I had the spider version in my warehouse for a few years... Finally moved it out for 5k to Germany... It was a mess but hopefully the guy in Germany made it nice again.
Thanks Mike, Ingrid will be going on the block very soon as I'm expanding my business and I can't keep two mistresses. What the hell !!! - I'm supposed to be retired Obviously, Rachel has deep roots in my family - - so ................ Cheers (anyway), Hank
Damn. Hank send me a pm on Ingrid. My wife has a 40th bday coming next year, she hopes for a month in Sardinia, maybe i can convince her to a lifetime in Germany with a girlfriend named Ingrid. Hey, i can watch. That will be a hard sell, for the both of us.
I really like those two cars: it's the Karmann Ghia Type 34 (my first classic I owned, but sold when I got the 308) and this early Datsun Silvia. My dad used to have the MKII, but these early ones are only found in Japan, very rare and very expensive. But then again: nothing beats the fun of driving the hell out of a Ferrari. I'm sticking to the 8 cylinders, but maybe one day a Testarossa would be very nice! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
UPDATE: I never thought I would add a MG to this list, but the 69 Midget I just restored is so damn cute! Its now on my list! Cheers! Image Unavailable, Please Login
