Well another of my weekly Ferrari trivia questions.

So, wizards, what does the "O" in GTO really represent?

...the letters "GTO" stand for "Gran Turismo Omologato" which translates into "Grand Touring Homologated" or "approval" for racing.

(See my post above for my first guess. Not bad for a non ferrari guy.)

OMOLOGATO, which mean homologated which is a bit of a cheek really considering only 30 odd were ever made....but then didnt you know the GTO is but a derivative of the 250 SWB....

Ha ha .... Funny. Though, if you actually DRIVE a Ferrari GTO (250, 288 or whatever else), you could probably *cause* a few orgasms here and there :D

The "o" stands for "omologato", which was the rquiremant that a certaian number of cars be homologated (made) before they could race.

    It just keeps getting better!

There was a TV show during the 60's called the "Wiz Kids".

I think all of those are on this site!

    Get ready for next week!

To set the record straight it is a blend of english and spanish, also known as spanglish, and is shortened from "oh my gato," which loosely translates into, "oh, my pvssy."
Basically, I believe, and this is only speculation, it makes one's pvssy ache when seen blasting down the road.

Sorry but Pvssy in Italian is Figa. MotoGP champ Valentino Rossi has WLF on his leathers, which stands for "Viva La Figa, or Long live the Pvssy.

I know there have been racing classes where GTO was Over a certain size engine, say 3L, and GTU was Under the same size engine. I don't know if that had anything to do with the classes in '62.
