    It's a space age development, you'll note how it accelerates air into the shape with out 'scooping' in the conventional sense, or increasing wind drag as a conventional scoop would.


    I think some Martians landed and gave the concept to Ferrari in the 70s, then they used it on the Boxer.....you see it on all the Martian space ships.......

    Thanks for the answers, guys. Is it where the motor draws fresh air, or do they cool brakes, or both, w/respect to different Ferrari models?

    Applications vary, on the Boxer it cools brakes, IIRC. They have air boxes on the engine cover for the carbs/injectors....maybe an oil cooler......

    On later cars, you can see them even in the plexi side windows feeding air to the cockpit.............it'll work for any air flow needs....




    I was kidding about the Martians........:rolleyes:
