Yeah! I always wanted to know what any of my Ferraris would feel like redlining 7th gear! Full beans as the Brits say!
Ferrari claims a top speed of 211 MPH so it’s likely this car was modified. That aside, the driver has some huge stones.
Yes if you watch it, public road and passing on the right. Stable at that speed! Highest speed was about 190….. This guy cannot get it up there…. Image Unavailable, Please Login
He is still at 225 MPH, which is only 3 MPH below the first vid and still considerably beyond the 211 MPH top speed claimed by Ferrari.
The 211 mph claim is not a max speed. Ferrari say 211+. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Cray-Cray. I’ve taken care of patients after high speed accidents… not pretty. I should post those videos.
Doing the math using data found online... Stock rear tire diameter is 27.2" (691mm) 7th gear ratio is .69 Final gear ratio is 4.38 8000 RPM redline = ~214 MPH (345 KPH) 21" wheels with wider tires or exceeding the redline would be needed to reach 368 KPH Ferrari's claimed numbers seem reasonable.
This calculation is incorrect. From a pure gear ratio perspective, it is possible. Here's how it breaks down. 1: We know the speedo is off by about 4 km/h above 300. 2: Tach shows 7900 rpm 3: 7th gear ratio is 0.642, not 0.69 4: Final drive is 4.375. 5: Tyre diameter is 27.2" So at 7900 rpm actual speed is 364 km/h. Add those 4 km/h the speedo is off by, and you have 368. Now that being said, a stock F8 will not run 364 km/h, far from it. Both my Pista and the F8 top out at about 344 GPS, and that was with a zero traffic long run on the A5. At 344 the F8 hit a wall, and so does the Pista. Yes they are different from an aero perspective, but they top out about the same never the less. I wonder if Ferrari uses this as some kind of standard for drag. A Lusso also hits the wall at 344. Anyhow, making an F8 run 364 GPS, or 368 on the speedo in stock form is NOT possible. I don't care if you fill the tank with unicorn piss, it will NOT do that, not even close. The picture makes sense and should not be photoshopped, but the car must have a tune in order to do that. Just to point out something else mentioned in this thread. Yes you can theoretically run faster with larger diameter wheels, but that does not change what the speedo shows. The speedo reads speed from wheel RPM, it's not a GPS:
Good calculations I'm surprised the speedo is only off by 4 kph - my 488's speedo is optimistic by about 3.3% in 7th gear, which would be more than 11 kph at 340.
That's interesting. My 488 speedo is not off by a percentage, it stays about 4 km/h consistently though out the range. Same with the Pista and Lusso.
Indeed I will have to double check - I only recorded relatively high speeds and came at about 9 kph; I do not have enough sample data to make sure how it works (difference seems to increase with speed but it's very possible that it's not directly proportional).
