I got new wheels on the triple black mondial t and now the hideous calipers show and need to be painted....

    1) is there a standard ferrari color combo for these calipers ( I know that the mondials did not have painted calipers.

    2) what colors have you seen that seems to look best on a black car ( I got "black" chrome wheels too)... I was thinking black calipers or possibly yellow and adding the yellow fender badges any pics of black cars with painted calipers might be nice...thanks all!

i vote yellow also, but this story may change your mind. an old neighbor had a '00 mustang all black. he lowered the car and had all the springs/sway bars and what not powder coated yellow, then he put on custom rims and bear brakes powder coating the calipers in yellow.
in the end the car was black/black with highlights of yellow when you could see it. looked real nice and alot better than some mustang pim'd rides.
    thats my 2cents

    otherwise cad plate.

A very sporty look. Let's see a pic or two with the new rims. Did you have to do spacers or anything fancy?

How about lime green or electric pink? Something that really screams "look at me!" Big decision here, I wouldn't rush it with any hasty decisions....

    Cliff..
if you knew my cars, you would realize how funny your comment is...I use the cars regularly, maintain them well but rarely get them detailed (just wash and vacum--old school style) and keep them OEM and even with OEM badges they are as stealthy as a Buick LeSabre! Reading F-chat has got me going and thinking of non-stock treatments and updates and I am going slow here starting with ferrari 360 wheels (didn't want to stray too far) and black chrome ( bright chrome way too flashy for my personal ferrari tastes). the OEM calipers are really gross in light of the new fad of brightly painted calipers...I think I like the cad idea the best for the old style.

    Buzz...
I got 360 wheels and I will be fitting them soon ( as soon as I deal with the brakes),...here is what I have found out...there is no Brembro brake upgrade for the Mondial (348 should work but I don't know anyone that has fitted them nor do I think my slowpoke T needs more stopping power). The 360 wheels are supposed to fit our "T's" without spacers, but I have heard conflicting reports on the following fitament issues; 1) The mondial may (or may not) need the OEM 360 wheel bolts for mounting ( I think the T does not need them and the early mondials do need the longer bolts (I should find out soon) 2) The rear OEM360 tires (175 width) rubs on the outer wheel body flare or it does not..( Again I think the confusion exists in that the early mondials rub and the T's do not -- I should find out soon)

360s! Stock front and rear 360? That's a 10.5" width rim at the rear, no? 2.5" wider than our 8" stock width 225/55 rears. That might well rub. After run out of distractions with my drivetrain I'll go for rims like Russ's (snj5). Gorgeous and sporty without creating imbalance.

OK, fair enough. The cad plating probably looks OK (it's a highly personal choice, as you rightly point out here) without being too loud. The newest ferraris seem to be either red or black, the black being the most subtle.

Regarding Mondial brakes, yes, unfortunate there's no brembo upgrade from the very basic single piston calipers we're stuck with (3.2 cab here). However, I'm sure there's a way to graft on some twin piston brembo calipers from a 355 or similar but watch out for maintaining the proper front/rear bias. You can maintain the stock f/r bias by keeping the same relative piston area f/r for whatever combination of caliper you may bolt on. Good luck!

won't bother with a brake upgrade,,, car is just not fast enough and I don't drive crazy enough. on the wheels I took a look at snj5's and they are nice...I will try out the 360's and if it is too wild or too much hassle I still ahve the stock wheels which I actually like...these wheels (other than the stcorso vent) are my first daliance outside of factory stock...I think a Tubi will be next and then, depending on Buzz's exp. a K&N (I am getting over my MAF trauma)

I agree. Make sure it's Ferrari yellow and not Porsche yellow though.
