I just sold my yellow 355 and have been looking at 458s. Wondering if the 458 has a color that is bringing in the premium money on resale such as red does with the 355? BTW I think the 355 and 458 are the two best looking Ferraris of all time...
red is the most "popular"458 color. white, black and yellow are desirable colors to those who who prefer something less common and should still be easy to sell on the used market. whether red really brings in a "premium", as some believe on this forum, is subject to opinion. most would agree, however, you should get the color you want and don't worry about the next owner.
Well, it's a dumb reason to order a car because of what may be a popular color because if everyone ordered red, there would be no other colors but red. Would red be popular then? Red is the most popular --- HOWEVER, that means the other colors are rarer. Someone who doesn't want red will hunt down a non red car with a lot less to choose from. It all balances out. You should just buy what you like and not worry about it.
While silver isn't normally my first choice I think it looks rather good on a 458. Honestly the 458 is one of those cars that looks good in any color. Very hard to pull that off.
There is a Nurburing Silver/black Italia in town and it is gorgeous. When I was shopping for my Spider my choices were: Two Rosso Corsas Two Whites One Rosso Dino No Slivers of any shade. I opted for red/beige with 852 miles. The other red had over 2500 miles and fewer options. We already own two silver cars and one pearl white. Trading the red 360 for a red 458 seemed a natural choice. no regrets so far. (BTW beige seats in the Fcar was a new experience for me. We have beige seats in our silver boxster S. the 458 seats seem to show dirt much more easily. have to clean with Lexol leather cleaner 1x a week. the Pcar need to be cleaned once or twice a year. Switched to beige in the 458 as F355 GTS and 360 Spider had black which did not show the dirt. the Fcar beige Daytonas with red stitiching and piping are very pretty and are also pretty high maintenance.)
That silver is just stunning. I have never seen a ferrari in that color. A great choice! My first two Ferraris were red. I wanted something different for my 458. I chose yellow and I am happy with it. Untill I saw that silver 458. I agree with the other post about white cars. I do think white shows off the lines in a car very well. I guess the white color does not get in the way of the stunning shape. I shose white for the mclaren that I just bought for that reason, also something different Lee
Red best for resale but this is gorgeous. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have never seen a Ferrari F1 cars in any other color but Red. I personally love Red, but I think reason why Red is such desirable color is because it is the first color that comes to anyone's mind when we think of Ferrari. However, the car looks great in most colors, except Pink! Get what you like instead of what is more popular. I just got my 2012 F458 in Red! I am loving it.
+1 Hence I combined all the colours into mine....white it was! For resale - red. If you are ordering your car from spec- precisely the colour you want and not worry about resale. Keep it and drive it and enjoy it! Sunny
sorry to be a stickler for detail, but here it goes: mixing all colors of visible light will result in white light. combining all colors of pigment will result in black. my ferrari is black.
Haha you are very right and I knew someone would say this I like to think my car goes at the speed of light- or at least it feels it. Anyway- white or black, red or green, blue or yellow....458 looks the best car on the roads any colour Sunny
First obvious choice is red, then I'd go with TdF, silver, and black. As long as you go with a reasonably popular color, your only real worry for resale should be the key options like shields, led wheel, etc. PS, if you do end up with a 458 I may have to make the drive up north for a ride.
Hello, the AZ Rookie has a question, on the 458 red color is there only one shade of red on all years. Thx Steve
DAMN! that Speciale is a work of art ...bella una macchina Do you miss it? as for this topic -premium color? black - does it matter get what you like and make it the premium color! can't be thinking resale etc all the time!
Resale red. With helpings of red inside Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Of all the Speciales, I like that one the best for looks. Just stunning. I remember BevHills texting me a photo while I was on the runway, and by the time we took off, wheels retracting, my deposit and email was being sent to buy it. Lost connection. Landed in Korea 12hrs later not knowing if the messages sent, but happy to get a “she’s yours” response. I must have worn out my phone looking at the one photo for 12hrs! I think Sam has her now and is piling up the Smiles!
This car has quite a history, I've had no less than 3 prior owners message me wishing me well with the car saying they regret selling, and I've even bumped into the original owner accidentally at my dealer! I couldn't have specced her better myself. I think I'm the lucky 7th owner, intend on keeping it that way for awhile
