I have scratched one of the silver wheels on my Corsa Rosso spider . It needs to be repainted. I am considering changing the wheels color , and having them painted gold . Anybody with experience with gold painted wheels ? It seems to me that while the gold paint looks great and lustrous when new, it is not as durable as silver and may become dull .

I feel the same way about them as guys with their shirts unbuttoned wearing gold chains - why? Best

Depends on the car and the color. Gold wheels look good on some cars and colors, **** on others.

Paint it with bronze color, not shiny gold. It's like matte gold. It looks good on red car.

On your car, I'd go silver due to the yellow calipers. Gold can look good on a red car, bronze is not a bad choice either. If you go gold or bronze, go with a satin finish.
If you do silver, gold or bronze, at least you won't have a car with yet another set of black or dark gray boring wheels, like everybody else do right now. Black wheels make me think either of cheap steel wheels or pimp-mobiles.

I personally don't like gold wheels period. It's your car put what ever you want on it. Silver (not polished) is my preference on a red car.

Only works with very specific color combinations IMO. And it never works with yellow brake callipers.

Maybe you can get KITT license plate and a Cylon-like LED for the front

I agree with Data. I think it CAN work but its probably the trickiest wheel color to get right. On your car I think I'd stick with the standard "silver" wheel finish.

Satin Gold wheels can go well with Red or Black Calipers on a Red car.

My opinion is that they are atrocious. To me, they look like someone trying to modify their Honda. They are very loud, just loud AND hideous.

My opinion differs from some on here regarding black wheels as my ZR1, Speciale, and 12C all have dark wheels. The GTR has black Volk's with a silver trim. All my cars except the GTR are OEM wheels.

ferrari's gold wheels are close to bronze actually and look great on a silver or black car but less so with red.

I was not a fan of this look until my friend had his 458 lowered with bronze PUR wheels. I was skeptical at first, but after spending time with the car it is really a looker.

Come on now - Hasselhoff's ride had black wheels.

I personally like gold wheels on the right car in the right color.

You already have a Ferrari - gold wheels are way over the top IMO. Too gaudy... Just my view as I like alloy metals against the sweet paint colors.
