I saw a recent PBS special on 60's folks music (This Land is Our Land, I think it was called), which I thought was very good. But, I'm not knowledgeable enough to suggest a book. Lately, I've been totally digging The Seekers, who although best known for Georgy Girl, have a folksy vibe. Speaking of which, check this out, for the Grand Final (Australian Football equivalent of the Super Bowl?), they get The Seekers for 12 minutes and the NFL gets total crap for the recent half-time shows!!! Bogus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v22SPtCFck8 T
On a Canadian band day kick. I am very familiar with Sublime. Never get tired of listening to 'Smoke Two Joints', 'Date Rape', or 'Wrong Way'!
Kicking it back to the '90s today.... "Everyday Is A Winding Road" by Sheryl Crow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khrx-zrG460
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVe_NPWGt9c Snow tha Products lyrical skills are ridiculous, she has great flow and great delivery.
Holy Toledo. Just listened to some of her songs. That's a lotta words per minute. She should go up against Busta Rhymes or Twista! 😀 https://youtu.be/qg8efsaSmzk Disclaimer - video contains swear words. 😬 T
You should check her other YouTube videos. Need to slow it down with a little Lindsay Stirling! 😉 https://youtu.be/xyrnFRghCv4 T
It's not even about the speed, but the sheer delivery. Eminem has proven he can rap incredibly fast (IIRC in rap god he beat Busta with amount of words over X time), but he rarely does it and focuses more on delivery. Rappers like Big Pun did too...the delivery and flow is what really gets me with her. Actually saying that, I hope she and eminem collaborate at some point. He's involved with Crooked I so he should be aware of her... Cheers, recently started listening to Busta again...Break ya neck remains a classic [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7FfCJb8JZQ[/ame] Censored version, but the clip remains hilarious to me Ah yes! Lindsey Stirling is excellent. She has great music: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHjpOzsQ9YI[/ame]
Starting this week off on a good note (literally) with some new stuff. "Bang Bang" by Green Day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg5Bp_Gzs0s
I always thought Bad Company did this song! Seems from Wiki that there was some personnel overlap in the two bands. Learned something new. Thanks for posting, NEP! T I don't know why, but that song reminded me of this song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVGf3ePIO04 I love the rapping part, Junior Reid.
If I knew playing the violin could have turned into this, I would have never quit. Not bragging, but I was a natural and only played a year. I got to the point I could play songs by ear. I learned "Amarillo By Morning" just by the sound.
Shoulda kept it up. I have no musical talent. So, I'm very impressed by those with the skill. She's phenomenal. Her YouTube videos are crazy popular. MM+ views...T
