Just curious, how does one handle ecu mappings with non oem turbos? Do you need aftermarket ecus as well?
I know someone who tried GT2860s in an F40, they work great but required a lot of fabrication for the install. A new chip needs to be burned. They cant be done via OBD flash, the chips are the old style non-flash capable. Its the latter, a burned chip. For the guys who dont know how that works, they are burned with a UV light with a specialized machine. Not many people can do it, thats for sure.
It would be nice if there was a turbo upgrade option for the F40 with variable geometry (VGT). Modern turbo with minimal lag. If you find an option like that, please keep all of us posted. Thanks!
I know crazy old thread... but just picked up two of these new Garrett turbos that were meant for an F40. Are those the original LM? Unfortunately not a set but two identical but brand new Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
My understanding was the factory LMs used bigger IHI turbos manufactured by the Japanese company to spec for Ferrari, see below the difference between the standard units and the LM items. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
