Yesterday I saw a Green 365 Daytona with a black convertible top up, passing the other direction on a four lane street. I looked it my rearview mirror and I think the license plate said "Daytona" or close to it.

I am not sure if it was a kit car. But I'd give it even odds to be real, because I would imagine the number of Daytona Kit Cars in the world that were close enough to possibly fool me might be equal to the actual number of cut Daytonas...

The top was a slightly weird shape, but then again, I've never seen a Daytona conversion with its top up before.

    OK, I retract.

I did some image google searches and the convertible top was definitely a corvette top. So it was a kit car.

A buddy sent me this pic today, its the same car from a few posts back. Horrible kit. Embarrassed I didn't see how bad it was the first time, but I saw it head on then.

    Wow
Why put those badges in a kit car? Seems to me if that's what you want, enjoy it for what it is and don't pretend. Pretending makes it look silly imho.

Just the kind of infos I have been looking for that leads to the question I would like to ask:
Is there a good mechanic in Amarillo or surrounding area that can take care of these cars in case something breaks down? Having to flatbed a car 6hr to DFW is going to be a real headache. I'm asking mostly about Fcar mechanic but I'm sure any mechanic proficient enough to take care of any of these cars will be great.
