    Does anyone know what the stock idle jet size is for a 1978 400 GT? I have records on my car that say "carb jets changed for performance". I was wondering what the stock jet size is supposed to be.

    Just noticed your question - my Weber catalogue lists 400 GT-CA 4823 Mod. 1976 as having F23/45 Getto Minimo.

    I'm a little late to the party, but this is the best method I've yet found for balancing the airflow through the 45 DCOEs on my Healey. Also attached are some additional pictures for some Weber insight. Hope you find it useful...

    Hello,
    Simplest method of checking the airflow through each choke is to buy a "Synchrometer" from a Weber stockist (or look on eBay ). Using it is easy compared to taking off the air cleaners on a 400 GT ! It gives you a straightforward reading for each cylinder, and you can buy rubber adapters that allow you to use it in awkward spaces.

    Thanks to all who have contributed to this post! I am learning that having the throttle linkages all identical is absolutely critical to proper operation on these things. All my other cars are injected so I'm new to carbs. I intend on getting a synchrometer asap so I can finally fine tune without resorting to 'playing it by ear'. All in all I'm having a blast! The worst drive in a Ferrari is better than the best drive in my BMW!

    Hello Joe,
    One last thing.
    On my GTC/4, the rods connecting the operating levers to the carb levers, had a RH thread on both ends, which means you can't change the length to adjust the position of the butterflies, without rotating the lever on the shaft, and re-clamping it. Pierce manifolds will sell you a set of 6 replacements with RH and LH threads, for around $120.
