Guys, I bought the Weathertech Floorliner Digital fit floor mats. As the have worked really well in my other vehicles, I figured it would be worth the $430 plus shipping. The driver side fits perfect, but the passenger side bulges in as the right hand side of the mat is the large. Instead of trying to describe the problem, I have attached pictures. Of course I called weathertech: they said I can return them for a refund or get the same set as this is the way they are designed. For this price I'd expect something that is designed to fit (as the name implies) and I doubt that the mats are designed like this. So my question is to those who have these mats: Do you have the same problem or do your mats fit? If possible, post some pics. Thanks, Collin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
over time, the same thing has happened in my Audi S4. when new, though, the edge of the liners were straight and abutted the walls of the footwell. interestingly, it has happend only on the passenger side. driver side is still perfect.
Weather tech prides themselves as being a US company. I am always looking for US made products to buy but unfortunately, the hard truth is one ends up paying more for lower quality.
Seems these mats are designed like a pickup truck bed liner for vermont mud season. How do you guys use your ferraris to need this kind of protection. And in palm beach no less
On my BMW, they never fit right from new and the buckling of the sides only got worse with time. The problem is that the plastic-like material they use is too rigid, so very unforgiving if the fit is not perfect. Was expecting them to be made from a more conforming, heavy rubber stock. Not impressed.
A few of us actually daily drive our California, which means rain, snow, mud, etc. those mats really save the carpet. I am quite happy with mine. Rick
Rick For $475 they should do cartwheels in the front seat .. Yes I know that they are protecting an expensive vehicle, but if WT is asking their customers to bend over at least they should deliver a flawless product!
I got these mats from Amazon and while they dont have the tray effect of the weathertech's, they fit and work really well. Plus for $64 they are a no brainer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZALGUI/ref=oh_o06_s00_i00_details
Rick, I use mine every day...almost and never had an issue with my carpets. I have alcantara carpets that I just brush once a week or every other week and they are perfect Anyway I am sorry I didn't mean to criticize. ;-)
No apology necessary! I don't bother to clean my carpets as often as I should and fly R/C airplanes from a place where there is often mud on my shoes. But thinking about it, I may try going 'natural' for a while. I do like the look of carpets rather than the mats, and now that the salt from this winter is gone it is time to put away the weather tech, great idea!! Rck
Dear Rick, Could you tell us how yours fit? I believe you posted some pics of the driver side a while ago, I used them to make my decision to buy. But I don't recall if your passenger side fits well. Please let us know. Collin
In a Ferrari, textile mats are the only acceptable. When they get dirty, you wash them. Once or twice a year, you buy new ones!
I have had them for almost a year but I honestly haven't looked closely at the side. My wife has never complained and it does catch all the sand and mud. If you have a black interior I don't think you need them as badly because it won't stain. I have a brown interior and am afraid of staining things. Especially with my girls.
Collin, I looked and mine on the right side have a similar small bulge as the photos show, not nearly as bad. It really does not bother me though. Rick
Thanks to all who responded about their mats or gave their opinion. That's what these boards are for. In that light, I'd like to finish the saga of my weathertech mats, hoping that it might be helpful for others. So, last I sent them back to weathertech, a bit upset as previous reps did not help much. But then one rep told me she would get in contact with the design team and a guy from there called me back. He had received my mats, and took some others to a Ferrari dealer to find a good fitting set. He totally understood and saw the problem, and was very helpful. He found a set that fit decently, and promised to send me them. He did. So, now I am again driving with the proper mats, protecting the interior from the rain and mud in South Florida. (If you think these kind of heavy duty mats are not needed in "perfect" Florida weather, read below) The driver side mat fits very very well, love it. The passenger side mat fits not perfectly but is acceptable. It is a lot better than the first mat. In addition, I used Velcro to increase the contact between mat and side and therefore reducing the bulge. If you are looking for some custom protection, these weather tech mats work really well. I like the custom fit and the clean look of them. With my black interior, and black mats, and them being custom fit, no one will notice the mats as good or bad. This is what I want. Guys like you will notice of course, hopefully saying, he, those are nice mats. The mats are expensive, about $430 for the pair. In my other cars they have saved the carpet from many of spills. (No, of course there are no liquids allowed in the California.) They are easy to clean. In the pictures you will see I replaced the weathertech logo/sticker with some nice fabric Ferrari logo's, a personal choice of course. If you have any other questions, post or pm me. Collin For those with the intention to post comments like "You don't need mats in Florida" and "They are ugly", please read below. For others, please skip. This post is to help other members decide if and which mats to get, so please share your opinion as I do mine. Alternatives, experience and pictures would make your opinion helpful. The Cali, as you should know, can be a daily driver. So, for people like me, driving it literally every day, most of the times with a 3 and 4 year old in the back, in the rainy season in Florida, these mats are needed to simply protect the car from too much wear and tear. So, for people in a similar position, these mats can be helpful. For those who just put the Ferrari in the garage and hardly drive it, have no kids or rain, mats might not be needed. Needless to say whoever drives it in snow/mud (many perhaps), this post hopefully helps. In other words, criticism alone is not sufficient, please post other mats/experience/picture. I know it's off topic but that's the first pic I have seen showing a car that doesn't have the "full electric" seat controls The mats look good given your requirements against the black carpet I'm looking at fitting the carbon fiber mats
Yeah I got the standard seats, enough positions of movement for me. All electric though. Driver side has more buttons than the passenger drive (not shown) Those carbon mats should look really nice, please post pics when possible.
