Sorry, I'm new on this forum. I've got a question about the waterpump on the photo's I've just added on this forum. I've got several spareparts Ferrari, mostly 308. This waterpump I can't find in the diagrams of the 308. Can anyone tell me on which Ferrari this pump must fitt? I'm rebuilding my 1978 308 GTS at the moment, so the pump is on the bench. This pump was fitted 21 years ago.
Are you sure it is Ferrari? The way those two large blue fittings "Y" off of the thermostat housing is more like the coolant plumbing structure on the Lancia Thema 8.32 (but that doesn't seem exactly like the one you've got either). Sure that it isn't for some other Italian marque (Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, etc.)?
I think it's simply modified, good weld on the nipples. Then it looks like someone threaded in AN fittings. As to why? Who knows.. lots of guesses.. crossover pipe in the way of some other intake modification.???
The casting of the lower half of the thermostat housing looks more different to me than just being modified - but would be good to have a pic looking directly from the opposite side of the pulley more clearly showing if/how the 2nd large single water opening was eliminated.
Ummm no don't do that, there's the pump, which is replaceable, but it's currently mounted to the housing... That part can be expensive.
