I was surprised to read in he new Colin Comer Shelby book SHELBY MUSTANG that he claims on page 236 that Shelby produced "a 1,000 hp. street car that you can drive every day.". I have no recollection of this being advertised by Ford or in Ford showrooms. Or was that a car that you could have modified at Shelby? And what State emissions test would it pass? Or is this just wishfull thinking from a super fan?

The most amazing thing is guys running 1000hp through the A10 slushbox as nd not blowing then to pieces. Sure some are blowing but that box is design for less than 1/2 that hp.

The car was made at Shelby’s assembly plant in Las Vegas. It starts life as a regular mustang GT, that’s what the VIN on the title will say.
