    Hey guys, I have HRE 505s on my 308, but they are 12” wheels and too wide for the car. I need some 2 1/2 inch outer wheel lips (17 inch wheels) to make it right. Does anyone happen to have any laying around, or know where to find some? HRE said that they can’t help. I love these wheels and would really like to resolve this issue.

    Since stances cars came to be popular, there are some smaller companies that make or resell various sizes. The wheel face size and bolt number is what is really important. Then lip and barrel size. Lips on the outside / the barrel is the inner.

    i web searched lips and barrels and came up with this site: https://www.threepiece.us/lips-barrels

    I’m sure there are others. Note to look at tire size availability when sizing your wheels diameter and width to make sure a few sets will fit. Good 16” tires are getting rare.

    Thanks. I have sent messages to all of the wheel companies I can find that may have parts. So far, no luck.

    What diameter is the wheel center? And how many holes are holding the three pieces together?

    actually after a second look they look like 15” 20 holes. If so you could use BBS lips and barrels. This is the same size as the BBS e50 wheel I run….. if so you can contact BBS America. Ask for their Motorsports department and see if you can speak with Eric. You will have to know what measurements you want to run.

    I have a set of 17” HRE 546R, no idea what the hoop depths are but I can measure, I paid 2k for the wheels, if the lips work then that is what it would be

    Thanks guys for the input. The wheel centers are 12 inch, with 20 holes for the bolts.

    I have been talking to HRE. They are helping. I also found a place in California called WheelFlip that said they can probably build the lips for me. The only catch is that they want one of my wheel centers to ensure fit. I don’t really want to ship it, so I am trying to find another old face that I can get for cheap to use for mock up. If I cant find one, I may take one of my faces and laser scan it and 3d print a replica to use.

    Did you ever find someone that could supply/build the lips? I have a set of 16" HRE 505's and I'm looking to do the same. I acquired these wheels that where being used on a 288 GTO recreation (photo included) but they are much too wide for my 328. I reached out to Wheelflip (communicated with a very nice fellow named Andrew) as well as HRE (communicated with the Zach) without any luck.

    I didn’t find anything new. My car has not been running for a couple months so I have been focused on that. I think I may see if wheelflip can make the blanks for me, and then I will find a machine shop to machine the bolt pattern. Does your spacing need to come off the outside of the wheel as well?

    Hey guys. After a year of searching, I have finally found the outer lips that I need. They fit so much better now.

    I will be selling the 5” polished lips that I took off. They are 17”x5” double step for HRE 505 or other 500 series wheels with 20 hole bolt pattern. I will be putting them on eBay soon, but if any fchat people are interested, send me a PM.
