Anyone a member of, or participate in an event held by the Vulcan Motor Club?

Just did their "Wind and Fire Tour", which is a whole day of driving select exotics around scenic roads across NJ and PA. I got to drive a Ford GT, Aston DB9, Ferrari F430, Lambo Gallardo, Audi R8 and a Bentley Continental Flying Spur.

Vulcan put on a great event - well coordinated and the cars were phenomenal. Check them out if you get a chance - I highly recommend it!

I thought Vulcan was a members-only club? Not familiar with the event you did, but it sounds an awful lot like our Dream Car Tour, which we've been running for the past 3 years for less $$:

Guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ;)

Glad you had a good time! No matter who's putting on the show, it's always a blast to get behind the wheel of some great machinery and drive some fun roads.

The "wind and fire" tour is exactly like the Gotham Dream Cars' "Dream Car Tour," just at twice the price! You can tell who doesn't know how to use Google by checking who signs up for it.

Well my wife booked the event for my 40th birthday, so I don't think she would have known the difference. I think since Vulcan is in NJ, she went for it.

If Gotham is half the price, then I will certainly sign up for another round in the future - it was well worth the day, I really enjoyed it. I would not otherwise be able to drive cars like this, although I would have been perfectly happy in the F430 for the whole day!

I used their Gallardo/Murci a few times.. no complaints, excellent service, and decently priced.

Just went on the Vulcan website and appears that they promote that they own a Tesla and SLR? That's pretty sweet. I can see the Tesla being a huge hit as I am sure that gets a whole unique buyer + the usual car enthusiast.

I got a short ride in a Tesla recently in NYC and it is pretty impressive. The torque and acceleration is fantastic, 0-60 is like 3.9 seconds but it is kind of weird since there is no engine noise whatsoever of course. Nice looking car.

Sorry for the brief thread hijack, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming!

That sounds exciting. Hearing no engine noise at all is very strange and at speeds can get very high without even hearing a peep. Would you buy one over something else in its price range? I like the concept. I would rather put my money on Fisker though.

They mentioned the Tesla to me. It's not in yet, but they did say it was a nice addition. They also mentioned that it was "purchased" from someone off the list...so they paid royally for it I am sure...

Someone I know forwarded me an email about an open house they had this past Tuesday.
Funny timing since GDC jsut had thier open house/meet and greet with Valentino Balboni just last week... Which was a great night.

Kudos to GDC ... My wife is thinking about renting a Murci for me for my 40th :) great gift

I was at the open house at Vulcan on Tuesday. Very cool clubhouse in Chester NJ and a nice assortment of cars. The Tesla was there, as was an SLR roadster. Not sure if the roadster was theirs or not though, it had CO plates on it I think. They do have an SLR coupe in the collection.

Where does GDC take the drivers? I can say that the drive with Vulcan was stunning - really great scenery as well as great cars.

Yes - looks nice too. One of the people that participated in the drive I did was from Long Island, and he preferred the NJ route over the NY version. FWIW

Tesla's definitely make noise, it's just a different noise than you're used to. It sounds like golf cart engine, just twice as loud, and it's very cool and futuristic, although at a stop it's totally silent.

GDC was the best experience I ever had, Not to put Vulcan down... But the GDC from the start to the end was awesome. Very impressed with the professional staff and cars. Never thought Id ever say it but driving the Ferrari F430 up Bear Mountain was my best driving experience ever I'm still dreaming about it, Plus they let you push the car hard (Well not that hard Noah/Rob LoL). Breakfast/lunch before you drive off and gift bags at the end for that price bravo GDC.
