Anyone used Viton Triple seals from Superformance? Or just stick with originals. Thought Viton would be better????

Yes, I put the viton seals in my car. They have a much tighter fit than the original style that I tried. I would recommend them.

Yes Grant. Those are the replacement for the famous triple seals at the end of the propeller shaft.

I just bought them ( item 137249) . But easy to install ? I wouldn't call it that. They are stiff as a rock. So you have to heat them carefully ( viton = max 200°C), use oil/grease and stretch them a little as possible.

The viton replacement of the factory seals are pliable. You stretch them and they slip on without any hideous heating or boiling of the stiff green seals.

137249VITON at the Superformance UK site, under 355 Clutch components.

    Hm,
The factory are the stiff green ones that need to be boiled before they comply.
The brown viton ones are soft and slip right over the shaft.
So, what color is the one you bought?

Check the write up Ernie posted on replacement. The key is to use a sheet of plastic cut from a used plastic beverage bottle. use the curved section and cut it to fit, wrapping around the shaft. You can lubricate it with lithium grease or something and slide the seal to the notch where it belongs. Do this 3 times and you're done with little drama.

This is what I have to do to install the factory ones.

    1. Put them in boiling water
    2. Stretch and slide them over a long socket of proper size
    3. Slide them over the clutch shaft
    4. Use a clamp to compress them back to size... after waiting 30 minutes or more
    5. Carefully push the shaft in using fingernails to push the compressed rings into the hole

The pliable viton seals slip right over and we are done

I saw a post some time back where an installer devised a three heat gun method to install the seals. That was hideous.

Yes ; I have it also ready to install. Do you know a good way to not damage it during install ?
I was thinking of installing the flywheel/clutch part first and then the pumpkin. Possible ?
