By phone, fax or mail? Cool communication tool but doesn`t works in this business (IMO!). Just drive down, when its on the route, have a personal conversation, get in touch with the mechanics and master craftman, get an impression of the firm and leave YOUR business card/impression....and work out a deal!
100% For the Dino I was searching a good place to do major service. Visited a "Ferrari specialist" in Eindhoven, price was OK, but still hadn't a good feeling about it. 2 months later, when my Dino was at Forza Service, the company in Eindhoven broke down. A lot of customers who had their cars in had problems with laywers to get their car back. Always do business "personal' and get a feeling with the people you are doing business with. Btw, a major service on a Ferrari IS BIG BUSINESS!!! We are not talking about $50 here........ just my 0.02
A bit difficult from the South of France I had no difficulties with 4 other Main Dealers and we ended up chatting on the 'phone like old buddies until the battery on the mobile died! One of the Main dealers who did the last servicing even sent duplicates of all the bills to me in France after chatting on the 'phone! Perhaps you shouldn't always open the conversation with "Eh Du!" Wolfie! In actual fact K in S were very friendly and chatty, but the price they quoted was the absolutely 100% confirmed ('cos they had just that week done exactly the same for another customer) STARTING PRICE! So chatting about the rest of the details certainly wouldn't have brought the price down. Incidentally, I've found 80% of the Main Dealers in South Germany to be incredibly friendly. Shaking hands and getting personally introduced by name to everyone who will be working on your 10 year old used car is a new experience to me and didn't happen on my new CLK Cabriolet!
Drew, They never know who is realy at the phone and asking for the price!!!!!!!! (I know what i`m talking about, same in my business!)
Wolfgang, how about you now ringing up K (as they know you now) and asking the price for a pure cambelt change (no additional work) on an F355? p.m. me the price!
No sorry buddy, I don`t! I realy don`t want to waste their time and asking something just to know a price and without any real order in the back. Don`t get me wrong, but thats not the way it works (to me). BTW, the cambelt change is NOT an engine out service on the F355!!!!!! We have discussed this at Kroymans with the mechanic and they don`t built the engine out for it and they don`t charge it this wrong way.
Hey Wolfgang! Cool down! I didn't REALLY expect people to start ring around for me It suffices to say that the Ferrari Foreman at K said that "he doesn't need to make an estimate for my 348 as they have just done a pure cambelt change (not 50k service) on a 355 as the owner instructed them to do just that and nothing else. This work is identical to the 348 and he knows that the 355 cost 4000 + VAT" end quote. Seemed astronomical to me, anyway!
Hmm ... This Kroymans mechanic seems to be the first official screwer changing the 355 belts this way. Can we estimate 8 hours saved working time? Should I go there with my 355 next winter? Have some serious questions to my shop now THX for sharing the great Lambo pics! forza cinque
Yes, they do charge only 4 hours for the campbelt service! BTW, they are offering: Bring your car and drive back with a FREE no charge Rental car from their firm. Or somebody would drive with a closed flatbe-trailor to your house and pic up the F car without any charges - for sure they will bring you also back the car at your house. This doesn`t works for just an oil service but for a campbelt service or....you know.
So you're saying about 400 + price of the cambelt including pick up, free car etc.? I reckon there will now be a queue from Stuttgart to Scotland of every 355 that can be driven there. The Verdi 355 cambelt change in car, with no engine removal costs 1200 including the cambelt price (100?)
Wow, nice offer! Glad to hear some positive engagement for under engine-out-trauma suffering 355 owners forza cinque
Don't know Kroymans in Germany but at Kroymans in Holland you allready have to to pay E500,- when you enter the garage......... We have much better Garages in Holland with much better prices......
You know, I`m always honest and that was my impression. No I haven`t payed anything entering the door Once again; Kroymans is NOT my garage!!! I`m since many years at Mr. R.F. and very happy -and don`t wanna change !!!
OMG...! WOLFGANG, THESE ARE ORGASMIC PICTURES...! i ONLY HAVE ONE PICTURE OF 135888...!!! And you got the assembly number, too..! i love you...!!! You have a PM... Thank you...
My pleasure dear NNO, if your sticky keyboard still works, check out your mail box for the whole set of pics incl. some more inf os about the "BNNO"
Stunning pics Wolfgang. Imagine what it is like when they are changing the cars on the showroom floor.... Poor Dino btw.
The salesman is talking Yeah, you have an eye for it! Indeed its very, very narrow and the drive in-out is just mm by mm. I`m also still wondering how the hell they drive the cars in/out?!
Hi Wolfgang.
Could this be the Enzo of Willi Weber? He lives in Stuttgart and has a black Enzo. Last year I talked with the owner of an Enzo from Ulm and he told me that he was the only one who got an Enzo through Lais Power. He also said that Willi Weber got his one from the factory. But why is the car at Kroymanns? I thought Willi Weber and Walter Lais are friends because I saw some pics of them and Willi Weber visited a Stammtisch of Lais Power some yeras ago. Would be nice if there is third Enzo in Stuttgart. Martin
Martin, its NOT Willi Webers Enzo! The black Enzo from my pics now belongs to gentelman from Stuttgart. He is the second owner of the Enzo. First owner was C.K. from München. BTW, there are 4 Enzo`s in and around Stuttgart now!
