Peter, thanks for not throwing me out after my ugh 2nd spin!! Good news, relatively slow speeds, no damage to passenger or car...thanks to Chuck. Unfortunately, we now have pics to document my lack of skill!

If anyone wants some pictures of the track day for free, just email me. I've gotten a lot of good feedback about my pictures (not just of the ferrari track day) and plenty of people wanting them. I can't sell the pictures so I'm just going to give them away. A few friends has pestered me to setup a donations page to help me out. You don't have to donate to get the pictures, just want to clarify that. Photography just gets pretty expensive since I'm just trying to build up my portfolio right now.

    Ferrari Track Day Photos Here.

    Details as followed Here.

These are some of the best track photos I have seen. The shots of the F40 are exceptional. I would love to have a copy of the these!

    Unfortunately, he is not anonymous!
Oh yeah, I remember now...I was wanting to see if the Ford GT had the same offroad agility as my Cayenne....NOT!
Been to VIR with the GT in 4 Ferrari Club events, 3 Audi club events, Car Guys, and never a spin...then, 2 in one day. Ugggh.

At least you didn't hit anything solid. It's just not the same if there isn't a resounding "wham" at the end.

"whamless" is GOOD - especially if I'm in the car!

Chuck, you're probably the reason we didn't hit anything at turn 10 and stayed on the track. I just remember you telling me which way to turn the steering wheel, and I turned the wheel accordingly. But honestly, I did not know which way was up or down. I was amazed how composed you were...you seemed to know the right thing to do and were not fazed by the spinning.

I've been on much more 'harry rides' in my time than that one. It takes more than that to get my cockles up. :)
AND, any time I'm in a car that looses grip in T10, I immediately dispatch the "Avoid Tire Wall" subroutine, no matter what we're in. It just comes out sooner and louder proportionate to the value of the car. Ford GT = nanosecond invocation and really loud so I know I'm heard. :D

I've been with more than one person who's learned the 'DON'T LIFT IN T10' lesson, so I have prior experience keeping drivers away from the wall. Just ask JRR (Daniel)! It only takes once - I bet cyclenirvana never lifts there again! :D :D

Hey, we all learn from making mistakes, and I've certainly made my share! I am lucky enough to have gotten most of my biggies out of the way early. One thing's for sure - the learning never stops. Hopefully the incremental size of the lesson does. hehe

    Cheers,
    C

You saved my bacon in Turn 10 also...

As we spun toward the tirewall, you started scream into the radio. It's all a blur. Next thing I knew, you grabbed the wheel and the car safely came to a stop about 3 inches from the wall.
