    Holy sh*t! What a nice guitar? I have collected almost the designs of the guitars but I can't see that kind of design. I want to buy it. :(

    Here are some photos. The pick guard is dated as patented 1911 so could be a bit later than that for the guitar. My grandfather used it for early gospel meetings and he died in 1933 so that brackets the dates I guess!! I had someone say a long time ago they are perfect for bluegrass style music but I am sure someone will let me know... PS I know the strings are a mess!

    Not really. There was a letter for insurance listing it at a few thousand (cant remember exactly) but the letter was about 25 years ago!

    I think they are quite rare variety as they are smaller and have the violin type back (not sure of the proper style names)

    I still have my sunburst strat that I bought new at Manny's in the early 60ies. I think it cost about $120.

    I also have a Martin 12 string I bought back then and a Guild Starfire.

    You know I inherited it and dont play. I think if it turns out to be around 1924 it would have had about 8 years of use before it got laid up when he died so I think it has very little use - probably a fair example. He lived in the Prairies in Canada and lugged the guitar to gospel meetings all over the place. I played jazz trumpet (no more) so I really want to take up playing. I had some real experts play it and it sounded wonderful - really metallic? in a good way. Next time you're in London.....

    Good to hear it sounds wonderful. I wouldnt know, I dont play acoustics, but would love to have a play on it to see how much different it feels and sounds compared to todays acoustic guitars. :D:D

    Thanks for the pics and the offer. ;);)

    Bought yet ANOTHER guitar. :eek::eek:

    I have the black ESP Ouija, so I decided to buy the white version. :eek::eek:

    I also bought a new 7 guitar stand rack. The old one is going in the kids bedroom. :D:D

    No more, last one I wanted in my collection. **I think**

    Some are REALLY REALLY cool. :D:D

    I JUST bought a new Kirk Hammett (Jim Dunlop) wah pedal. :eek::eek:

    It replaced my old Vox one and it sounds A LOT better than the Vox one I bought in 2001. :):)

    Badass!

    While I'm not an ESP guy, I am still itching for an Ibanez PGM or two, or even three in the future.

    Man, I LOVE it! :D:D

    Was just thrashing it before, a mate came around and wanted to hear it. He doesnt own a wah at all, but is going to buy the same one off Ebay when he gets home. :eek::eek:

    It does sound a lot better than my old Vox, no ****. :D:D

    Next time you're out and about, swing past a music shop, plug one in and have a go/listen. I love Kirk, so I bought one off Ebay without even playing through one. :eek::eek:

    Glad I did, it sounds fantastic. In saying that too, I love his sound and this matches it perfectly. If you dont dig his sound, then you probably wont dig this wah. ;);)

    But it sounds great, highly reccommend it. :D:D

    Stop trying to encourage me to buy more guitars. :eek::eek:

    I actually have 8 guitars if you include my very first old "beater" and the junior Kirk Hammett ESP I also bought for my kid/s, in the future when I have them. :eek::eek:

    If I come across a nice black ESP Explorer I may add that to the collection. If not, its all good. Am very happy with my collection, they all look great and more importantly............they all sound amazing! :eek::eek:

    Very cool! I wish I still had all the guitars that I ever owned...

    A good friend of mine (and fellow fchatter) owns a 1969 Strat that he purchased new as a kid. That old Strat has some serious mojo.

    Cheers mate. :eek::eek:

    I aint selling ANY of mine. I still have that first old beater, worth nothing and is crap. I was thinking of giving it away or throwing it in the bin..............but I have decided to keep it to have some memories of what I started with. :D:D

    I bet that Strat rocks!! :):)
