VIN number rejected?

Yes. You might have to fudge it to get it to accept a VIN and then put the actual in the ad text with a disclaimer that it's a euro. My insurance agent had to manually enter the VIN to get it into the system.

 

I think I've seen eBay ads with all zeros for the VIN. You might try that.

Check to see how many digits your real VIN has compared to the standard format used now. Your real VIN may be a digit short. For example, I have a 1980 Volvo that I have had since new and which has been continuously registered to me for 32+ years. For the past several years, each time I go to the state emissions inspection, they have to have a supervisor come out and manually override the system to enter the VIN into the emission test machine. This is even though the VIN on my car matches the VIN on the registration the the VIN on the emissions inspection notice. The "system" on the spot at the emission inspection station will not automatically accept my VIN because the VIN format in 1980 is one digit short of what is used today. To get to something even more absurd, when I went to register my car for Volvo North America's new "vintage" program, their system claimed my VIN was invalid for the same reason. I simply added a zero at beginning of the actual serial number string and then it worked.

 

ebay doesn't recognize the euro vin on the state side ebay. So put zeros in that block and put the vin in the add.
