Hi guys, this is a curious one. Hope it will bring out the experts. Inside the "Owner's Warranty and Service" booklet, it mentions the model year as MY06. Specifically, it states: F430 F1 USA MY06. This is also matching the description found in the "Hi-Fi System Warranty Card". The VIN number on the steering wheel is the same as in the booklets. The date of the warranty stated in both booklets is 20.11.2006 And the VIN matches the metallic tag that is found when you open the driver's door. However, that same metallic tag states "MY07". Note: this metallic tag is in Arabic, and it translates to that "this car is compliant with Gulf Countries specifications". The car was initially sold by Al-Tayer Motors in Dubai, UAE. 1. There is no number 7 in the VIN 2. Engine number is 111916 3. The car has front and rear sensors
To assist with a more complete answer your full vin might help As I understand you think a printed book is a more accurate indicator of model year than any tag in the car However Ferrari have a long history of using up books as needed and not obsessively reprinting a new manual for every model in every model year in every market The vin is the legal identity of the car
Don't mistake Production Date with Model Year. A vehicle can be produced in 2006 and be a 2007 model. The warranty starts when the car was delivered 2006 or 2007. Which does not effect the Model Year ie: 2007 As another poster has stated, Ferrari will use booklets they have , as the information may be the same 2006 vs 2007 ( Updates come out all the time, which include stickers or inserts to be added to previous booklets ) S
Thanks guys. I have contacted the original dealer who has imported the car from the factory. They responded initially and I will sort everything out with them in the next 48hrs. Mind you, this is MERELY a curiosity matter to me and I am not concerned with its "history". That said, just to bypass any confusion, the Warranty booklet states clearly "MY06" and so does the Hi-Fi booklet. It is in direct discrepancy with the metallic, silver/black tag, found when the driver door opens, that states "MY07". Now, did the 2006 models comes with Front + Rear sensors? Bluetooth? Because I have those two options.
