I am trying to find a set of 5 trumpet Maserati Air Horns that were popular in the 1960's and 70's. They played a few notes from songs like the Coronel Bogie March from Bridge over the River Kwai, La Cucharacha ,Call to the post etc.( also played solid tone.) Vilem B. Haan in Los Angeles often sold these through ads in Road and Track, Car and Driver etc. etc. If anyone could furnish a photo of the horns including the compressor or a scan of the Vilem be Haan ad showing them I would appreciate it.
I have been offered a set of Marchal horns does anyone have any information on them ?

I loved the Vilem Haan catalogs. To a great extent, they stoked my love for sports cars. I have kept most of them and once in a while go through them.

I still have a Maserati air horn (two trumpets) from Haan.

I thought I was the only one who saved his old Vilem Haan catalogs!

Do you remember that the "Colonel Bogie" theme was also used in commercials for hot cereal? "Win-ners, warm up with MALT-O-MEAL"!

I see that the full range of "Maserati" horns in my 1976 Haan catalog includes dual horns, triple horns, musical horns, frenchy horns, bicycle horns, emergency horns, electro magnetic horns, and marine horns. Compressors shown in the catalog are red, black, and possibly blue, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of them came in silver.

The musical horns were operated through the stock horn button if you wished to play the "tune", or could be sounded all at once if you operated an override switch.

They were electric, hence the compressor. MG Mitten sold them too (page borrowed from a post in the Alfa chat room). My compressor is a metallic green with an aluminum disc on top with the Maserati trident. I just looked.

Musical horns may not go with a Ferrari!

These were the ones I had years ago and want again. The compressor was silver with a red Maserati trident.
    Please send photo of comp.
Does anyone know of a set that played the Coronel Bogie March that I can buy. There are new models from FIAMM but they are more suitable for catering truck use.

Thanks for posting those! I loved the Haan catalogs too, I still think about these incredible wrap-around sunglasses they used to have. Wonder whatever happened to the company...

I can sure relate to that. Countless hours looking at all of the items they sold for sports cars. I think I finally bought my first pair of Jim Clark driving gloves from them. I wish I would of kept some of the catalogs, too, along with a lot of things that got thrown away.

These come up on eBay quite often. They have little to do with Maserati, and to my knowledge were never installed in any Maserati cars. A license agreement was in act with a sub. of Maserati SpA to use the name only.

There is one on eBay right now item #160447416757 $99.00 USD

    Good luck!!

Thanks I want the set that plays the Col. Bogie march tone Pa,Pa, Pupapapa! from Bridge over the River Kwai. as an alternative I will take a set that plays the Italian Police note 3 horn set.
Can Ebay be searched to find if a set was ever offered and to watch for them in the future ?
