The guy was crowding his space apparently. "Hey Kimi, Fancy a shot of your face??" "Get away from my ****!!!! I need to get something from my bag!" "Thanks for the shove. That was all rubbish wasn't it?" "Go rubbish your arse now that you slammed the ground with it!" "OK!!!"
Big deal. The press these days are too close and need to be extra careful. I cheered for Britney Spear's tire when she ran over the photog's foot.
Boy o boy imagine if that was a video of Lewis Hamilton pushing the guy over. What hate and venom would be vented on here i wonder.
With all due respect, I think this is misleading. You pick the pictures to deliver the message you want to send. Someone can easily put together a set of pictuers where Kimi is signing autographs where Michael and Massa is doing something less friendly and argue otherwise.
Solution: A special photographer/newsman session at the track. During practice before each race have the photograhers and newmen who want to do interviews run across the track. If they don't get hit, they get an interview equal to the amount of time they were actually on the track. Otherwise, no interviews. Might just cut down on the overpopulation of photographers and newsmen and limit their interview time to a more reasonable amount. One drivers point would be warded for every photograher and/or newsman hit. Problem solved.
Well I can fill this thread with Kimi's bad attitudes. Malaysia 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogC1w_RAnxU
well, i think the photographer should have stopped when Kimi's fitness assistant and Kimi himself asked him to stop and mind where he stepped. but then, Kimi should have just shoved him, and not pushed him to the ground. in football, or soccer, if u pushed anyone like that, you could get fined.
the photographer was Paul-Henri Cahier, who us one of the most renowned F1 photographers ever. He stated he has no intention of pursuing an action against Kimi. seems like a big deal over a minor situation...,
I would have knocked him to the ground with my camera...I would then sue him for assault and battery...Kimi is such a low life...
I know he is what he is. I have always had a low opinion of him (from a Ferrari fan perspective) ever since two years ago when he knew that Micheal Schumaker was being awarded a prize in the pit lane. And when asked why Kimi had not attended, he responded that he was "busy having a siht". That spoke volumes IMO and am sure the Italian tifosi loved that It would have done no harm showing the Scuderia Ferrari a little respect again IMO, especially when you know that you have signed up to it as a 2007 driver. Rock on Massa i say.
Photographers regularly want to use the marshall's fence cutouts, no coincidence since they're usually regularly spaced and big enough for a person to climb thru. Even though we're possessive about them since we're who's asked for them (or created them) I've had no problem sharing the spot with photographers after making two things clear: no pictures of me falling down, and if I have to respond to an incident I (and the fire extinquisher I'm carrying) aren't waiting patiently for you to move, we're coming thru and apologizing later. They all seem likely to agree to sell you their mother for a good photo spot, and though I haven't had to climb over one I have had to call "enough!" when their friends try to see how many of them can crowd into the same spot. I realize they're working, but whatever money they make at the races is 100% more than I do!
(from autosport) The photographer who was pushed over by Kimi Raikkonen on the grid at the British Grand Prix has denied touching the Finnish driver or any of his equipment prior to the incident. Well-respected Paul-Henri Cahier was pushed over onto his back at Silverstone after Raikkonen took exception to his behaviour as he took pictures. In a statement issued on his website, Cahier has said he is at a loss to explain why Raikkonen attacked him - although has made it clear that he was not taking any action against the Ferrari driver. "There never was any contact between the two men, nor did Paul-Henri ever touch Kimi's equipment," Cahier's statement read. "Furthermore, the distance at which Paul-Henri Cahier was taking a picture, although close, was completely standard. "The photographers who take pictures at grand prix races are all professionals who have been accredited by the FIA, and as the dozen other photographers who were standing next to Paul-Henri Cahier prove, there was nothing unusual or unethical about this situation." The statement added: "Paul-Henri Cahier has been an F1 photographer for almost forty years and has been close to the greatest champions, but none of them have ever behaved in such a rude manner. "It is understandable that drivers might get irritable because of the pressure they undergo, but Kimi Raikkonen never even attempted to express his discontent in a non violent way. "Paul-Henri Cahier luckily did not suffer any injury, and so does not intend to take any action, but he regrets the arrogance with which Kimi Raikkonen treated someone who was merely doing his job." (I think this may be Bernard Cahier´s son, or some relative. Bernard Cahier is WELL respected in F1, more so than Kimi Raikkonen. Probably wrong guy to push for any reason. A simple move your ass request would have been appropriate)
Well I just had a call from Paul Henri Cahier the photgrapher who incurred the wrath of the "ice prick". I needed arechive photos his dad took, in the days when drivers had manners and he was kind enough to return the call already today. He confirmed (although I am in no way quoting him) what I thought and had noticed at Mugello spring 2006 when ice boy was a guest of Toni Vilander at an Italian GT race, namely that mister Kimi Raikonen is an uneducated little @#$%. But the way he regularly keeps almost silent in press conferences refusing to share anything with media and fans already demonstrated that.
Yeah well, sometimes photographers can be vulchers. Perhaps if your friend had given kimi some breathing room, and not stepped on his equipment, this wouldn't have happened. Perhaps he should have exercised some respect for Kimi and his trainer, instead of ignoring what he was saying to get in his face with a camera?
