i had just got done with a race at Laguna Seca and all my team and drivers where gonna get together at another drivers house to have some dinner and reflect on the day, when we where leaving the track i saw a huge puff of smoke come up out of the trees almost directly where we where going, so i decided to check it out and we came apon the enzo fully engulfed in flames, one fire truck just pulling up and thats it, they where just starting to put out the fire, it was too late. I went back the next day too see if i could see what happened and their was nothing, no marks, no skids, no scrapes up the curb or anything, and we all know how low the car is, not even a mark from the tires on the dirt, it was a complete mystery, it was on his own residential street from what i was told and he was very familier with it. We did find his mirrors about 250 or so feet up the road in the brush so he must have had some sort of speed. when the car hit the tree it lifted up and did a 90 degree turn and ended up pointing towards the road. after a matter of moments it was a pile of ash and just 4 rims, sitting in the same spot they had been when on the car. When i was up their the next day i met a few of his fellow ferrari club friends and showed them the pictures i have of the whole crash, they had no idea what had happened like me but i hope the pictures helped a little to explain. They told me Gary was just an all around awsome guy and a great friend to many many people. He will truly be missed, god bless his wife and kid, our thoughts and prayers will be with you. if anybody has any questions or new info let me know. i can post the pics if need be but they are graphic. Oh ands everybody let this be a lesson that life is fragile, and we all need to slow down and leave the speed at the track.
This is all I have been presently able to find of this tragic loss: http://www.topix.net/content/kri/0995755063023922553606218225462638849275

Wow, welcome to Paul.... As you can see, there are many here who may not have been personal acquaintances of your father, but shared his passion for these beautiful, yet fearsome machines. Treasure those moments you were so very gracious to share with us. Take care of your Mom, yourself, and your family. I guess that's all I can say, at this point. Let us know if there is anything to be done to help.....the community here reaches around the Earth.
Let's not... If anybody *really* wants to see them, I think that would be a situation best handled privately via PM.
Agreed. Out of respect for Gary, let's keep any pics limited to private messages and not post them publicly. They are rather graphic. Ray
Goodness, how unbelievably tragic....RIP and Godspeed....my deepest respects to all family and friends.
Gary apparently is a man who is very bright, very intelligent, very community minded, very family involved, and, most unfortunately, I never knew him. However, from what I have read here he was very well liked by all. A good friend and F Chat member has shared pictures with me of his doings with Gary at an earlier time. It's just disturbing to think that a life as valuable as this can be so quickly extinguished.
Its just horible to hear that we have lost another great car enthusiast, Why does it seem that we lose the best? My heart felt condolences go out to all that are effected by this traggedy.
I'm in shock...the third Enzo accident that I've heard of this year alone. My deepest condolences goes out to Gary and his family. RIP, Gary.
My hear aches as I read all these posts, and I never knew Gary. I wish all the family my sincere condelences. RIP Gary. Stephane Pedaggi
