Recommendations for choosing a repair shop for Veglia Borletti tachometer for my 365 GT 2+2?

Searched the forum: Old threads say one thing, newer threads says another. I have never had a Veglia tach repaired before, so what's the recommendation in 2024?

    I'm in the US BTW.

(Yes, the cable appears to be working fine! :)

Palo Alto Speedometer has done a great job for me more than once.

    Thanks for the responses!

I've also seen people on the forum mention North Hollywood Speedometer, Foreign Speedo in San Diego, Speedo Repair and a few others. How people feel about the different shops appears to vary a lot over time. For example, it seems that PA used to be the top choice early on, but then the experiences are very mixed to say the least. It's the same situation with the rest of them.

So with that in mind, has anybody had a mechanical tach or speedo repaired recently, and if so how was the result? Thanks again!

We have a number of gauges with MOMA now, and have used them for over 30 years. They went through a rough patch about 15 years ago, but that is all behind them.

About six months ago I had a Veglia speedo repaired at Palo Alto and I was satisfied with the work….problem fixed with reasonable cost and turnaround time.

Thanks! So it appears MoMa and Palo Alto still are the premier choices. I will contact them after the weekend.

@Admiral Goodwrench - Those gauges look fantastic. What car is that?

so you not know if they are still as good as at that time.

I would prefer Palo Alto, only 6 month ago they did satisfying job.

but may be others would chime in and tell their experiences?

By the way back in January 2004 when I took my 1955 chronometric tachometer into Mo-Ma, Margaret Lucas told me that had I run the motor for 5 to ten minutes that the old dried grease would have caused a total failure of the mechanism. Your queen is approaching that age but I do not believe it is a chronometric tach. I think she has passed but her side kick was Joey Lobo who may still be running the show.

Margaret has passed on, and I believe Joey now owns the business.

Just to be clear my work was to repair a mechanical fault. It was not a restoration job.
