Minor point, just curious when you valet your car, do you tip when you drop off the car and again when you pick it up? Pulled into the Ritz carlton, tipped $20, plus they charge for parking, tipped another $20 when we left. Wife says this is too much? I've always done it this way- thoughts
$40 PLUS the cost of the service, just to park the car? Sorry, but gonna agree with your wife here. Would say I've tended to tip on picking the car up, unless I asked them to put it in view. $20 upfront would be reasonable for that, but wouldn't pony up another $20 at the back end.
When I park at Gentlemens Club I tip $10 when I leave but I pull up to the front and keep my key. At the casino each weekend I tip $5 dropping off and $5 picking up max but that is driving my CL which sometimes they put at door and other times they just park with other cars.....$40 is way to much esp if you are paying to park there.
Depends on the location. As in how much is self parking in the area. In Vegas, self parking is free, so $5 to $10 on drop off and pick up. Somewhere in Downtown Vancouver, pay parking is a little more expensive. $10 both times. $40 is way too much for most location. My Excursion, had it in LA a few times. All valets left it up front, big for most parking spaces and undergrounds. Id tip $10 dropping it off, most times it was a $5 on the pick up.
I'll be in Florida in two days... let me know whenever you need your ride parked. Seriously though, I'd say that $5 at drop off is fine and nothing at pickup (or vice-versa).
