Some Resort Hotels only allow valet parking. Has anyone ever taken your Ferrari's to one of these exclusive hotels and allowed the valets park your car? If so what was your experience with the Valets parking and taking care of your car? I am trying to determine if I want to take my 348 and give the keys to the valet.

Most of the valets can't drive stick [emoji6]

I've gone in groups and usually get parked right up front - no valet needed.

Use your gut in ethos gonna park it. Worst case go park it in a garage yourself. 348 trans can be tricky to get.

So I used to be a valet. Coincidentally around the time the F355 and Porsche 993 were new. Let’s just say that I got a lot of seat time in each. It was a lot of fun….

If you want to take your car, I’d suggest generously tipping the valet so he or she will let you park the car where it won’t need to be moved. And keep the keys….

Valets are something I've never understood. Completely unnecessary, a waste of money, and create the potential for all kinds of trouble. Is parking your own car and walking 30 seconds into a restaurant or whatever such a hardship?

I've always bypassed the Valet. From luxury hotels to Manhattan parking garages. Just be sure to tip nicely when you ask to park your own car and dont forget a tip when you pick it up.

Tipping generously so you don't have to use their service? Seems ridiculous to me.

Fortunately not a problem we have here fortunately.

I applied to be a vallet when I lived in Canada as a kid. All I’d say is “anybody anybody?”

I would never let a valet drive my 348. I'm quite capable of parking myself as well as walking back to the venue.

One of the problems in parking your own car is that there is no place to park except in the area other than the hotel lot and than you are down in the dungeon and other drivers can hit your car. If the valet take it they park it in front and watch it. It may be a lot safer to have the valets park the car.

I suppose in some ways it is but generally works out well.

Option 1- Park miles away and leave your car unattended.

Option 2- Valet it and maybe get your car crashed, scratched, ferris buellered

Option 3- Tip the valet as you are parking directly in front. Costs the same, even more convenient

I tip well (when initially parking) and self park up front while keeping the keys. They do a good job of making sure nothing happens.

Every once in a while I get the response that “we’re not allowed to do that.” I then tell them my insurance won’t cover damage if I turn the keys over. They give in after hearing that (and seeing that they’re being tipped generously up front).

I would never in a million years let someone valet my Ferrari after all you can start the car in gear and put it through a wall!! Most any restaurant or establishment will accommodate you and allow you to self park if you insist..... Even The Breakers. There is only one establishment I've ever been to in my life that would not accommodate a self park and I wrote them a scathing review on Google....have never been back
