    Hi Greg,

    While you were experiencing your Valeo glitches, did you notice any instances of a flickering "Alt" light? This happened to me as my alternator was starting to go South (or wherever they go when they're going bad). Funny enough, my Valeo system seemed not to be affected what so ever. But I did see an obvious reduction in upper RPM numbers since the hot spark was not there at the upper range.

    And a potential "knowledgable" buyer just may say: "nice 348 wheels - and you do know, the rears are running the wrong way". The angle always {follows} the flat of the spoke.

    Can't comment on the VIN plate issue -

    As regards the 348 wheel spokes "visual" issue .......... Do you see the flat? Do you see the angle? OK - - the flat always leads the angle (heading forward).

    Happy New Year Hank. For the uninitiated: what is the "flat"? And the "angle" of what exactly? Sorry for being dense.

    On the VIN plate the seller just informed me that the manufacture date is not imprinted. Weird.

    Hi robbio99, So sorry for the late response - - but ........ ehehhhhhh, I just returned from Thai cooking school !!!! :):):)

    OK - - when looking at the five spokes of a 348 wheel, each spoke is divided into two parts. One part is completely in line with the angle of forward travel. The second part (guessing here) appears to be about 30 degrees on angle (inward) to the first part. Making any sense?? :) Sorry, I don't have an available picture of a 348 wheel, so as to make "a picture worth a thousand words". So, the rule is - - moving forward, the angle follows the flat. Does that compute ?? :):)

    Hi Rob, Yes - - - but if the tires have a designated "direction arrow", you would have to unmount the rubber and switch them as well.

    Do any of you fellow Valeo owners know of a source for the Valeo ECU?
    Attached is the workshop manual drawing of it. It is located to the left of the trunk as you're looking at the back of the car.
    Also, could I trouble one of you to shoot a picture of your unit (especially the plug area) and send to me?

    Hey guys! I've got a customer who needs the Valeo clutch control ECU, does anyone in the world rebuild these ECUs? Customer states the car won't even start because of it?

    Especially interesting is all the input sensors the Valeo ECU monitors prior to a shift.

    Can someone please explain... what is a Valeo Mondial? what does Valeo do?


    I tried google, but all I can come up with are truck transmissions. :-(
