    Buon giorno tutti,

..This is an invitation to you, to join 'Fuel the Fund' - an automotive-themed fundraiser to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, taking place in New York's Capital District on Saturday, October 5th, 2019..

I'm a member here, and the organizer of this event which features as its 'centerpiece' a visit to Mr. Jim Taylor's private car collection in Gloversville, NY.

I hope you'll find it appealing.

What is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF)?
    - 30% of children who get a diagnosis of a brain tumor do not survive. Our son is one of the lucky kids who has survived. The PBTF is a highly effective organization with a very sharp focus on funding research aimed specifically at finding new medicines, technologies and therapies to defeat pediatric brain tumors. What the PBTF does is fund the ‘Proof of Concept’ trials for promising research efforts that are selected by their team. These trials are less costly that full-blown development research, but the trials are critical milestones that the concept must pass before being eligible for much larger funding that brings new treatments to the patients. This is why the PBTF is so important - it brings new treatments, quicker. With just $800,000 of funding from PBTF for ‘Proof of Concept’ trials, researchers went on to secure over $25,000,000 of funding for their efforts.

    Who is Jim Taylor?
    - Jim Taylor is the owner and CEO of Taylor Made Products, and has enjoyed the means to indulge his enthusiasm for vintage and modern exotic cars with over 100 of them in his deliberately curated collection. Ferraris, Maseratis, Mercedes, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Mustangs, Shelbys and Cobras are represented, also some other interesting cars like a Nazi Horch survivor, work trucks and various unique vehicles. Each one has its own special story - except the York forklift. Jim's collection is not open to the public, but he has agreed to host us for this fundraiser from noon to 3pm, lunch included.

    What are we doing?
    - You can participate in any or all of the following, at your leisure:
    - The day starts with Cars and Coffee hosted by Maserati / Alfa Romeo of Albany, NY one of DePaula Auto Group's newest dealerships.
    - Around 10am we'll go for a 2 hour Morning Fall Foliage Cruise to the Collection via some good Fall Foliage scenery with a scenic stop along the way.
    - We arrive the Collection at noon to a catered cold lunch, included in the Registration fee, and will have 3 hours to enjoy looking at the cars, chatting, hearing Jim talk about them, or talking to his staff.
    - At 3pm we embark on an afternoon Fall Foliage cruise, north around Lake Sacandaga with a scenic stop at its northern end, before continuing to The Saratoga Springs Automobile Museum.
    - We finish the Cruise and the day's events with an after-hours visit to the Saratoga Springs Automobile Museum. The exhibit we’ll be seeing is “Wheels of Change: Cars and Culture of the 60’s” with among others, a Lamborghini Miura and Toyota 2000 GT.

If you are coming from out of town and overnighting, Saratoga Springs is a great place to reserve accommodations. Saratoga holds their annual Food & Wine Festival that same weekend, which adds a layer of good taste to the whole affair. Make reservations promptly, we have a block of discounted rooms at Embassy Suites with a two-night minimum, which information you'll get upon Registration. Other major hotel franchises are well represented.

Below is a promotional flyer and some photos from the area and Jim Taylor's collection.

Any questions, please ask here or PM me.
    Molto grazie,
    - Art Harvey
