I have upgraded both the TR and 355 to the 350 mm wheel from MOMO the Commander looks good and gives a good feel and access to the car.

All of the Momo steering wheels are direct fits (no adapter needed) for the 348, and will probably also be a direct fit for any of the pre-348 models.

I went with the Momo "Race Evo" wheel just to add a bit of brushed steel to the cockpit.

These are dead easy to install. You just unscrew the allen screws, unplug the horn connections, swap wheels, and then reverse those steps.

Here's the 365mm stock TR "yacht tiller" ;) and the (smallish) 320 mm Momo Corse with a 1.25 " extension (86mm OD) on my TR (350mm is sort of the "normal" F steering wheel size).

The Momo mounting type that is the "common" (pre-airbag) Ferrari size is 6 mounting holes equally-spaced on a 70mm bolt circle with a 55mm center hole. Unfortunately (for you maybe), I think that at least some of the 2-valve 308i might have something else (although I don't think that anyone's posted the specific differences) -- anyway, just wanted to suggest that you measure/know your mounting arrangement before purchasing and maybe consider an 80mm OD diameter extension too for your 308i.

The Mondial came with the same yacht tiller at the TR; I found the much thicker rimmed and period Momo 'Cavallino' wheel to be my favorite. A simple Momo-to-Momo swap.

What model of Ferrari do you have?

If it's a 328, I recommend the Momo Monte Carlo:

    http://www.cardomain.com/item/MOMMCL35BK1B

It is a visually harmonious replacement for the original wheel, and much nicer to grip - anatomically designed for your hands. Note that there are two Monte Carlo sizes - you want the larger one for it to look right in the 328.

I was trying to stay stock on my 308 but couldn't find the exact same wheel anywhere. The closest I found was one from Pelican parts. Old one is on the rigt, new one on the left.

Nice swap. Steve, what's the purpose for "80mm OD diameter extension" for? Thanks

Did you check with reoriginals? Although they are high at times, they have pretty much everything in stock.

I second this wheel after Martin allowed me to drive his TR. Great size and ergonomics, especially if you are a taller guy. I was trying to picture the original wheel, which would have been hitting my thighs. Great feel to that Momo wheel as well.

The really bad thing in the TR Mark is before you hit the wheel your knees hit the bottom side of the dash trim but the flat bottom of the MOMO wheels gives more room to get in and out.

It brings the whole steering wheel back closer to your shoulder plane if you're forced to be in the "italian driving position" to get adequate headroom (with the seat back tipped back -- which moves the shoulders away from the dash). Also (depending on your size), it brings the steering wheel plane more into the waist area so you can tilt the column further down (rather than hitting your thighs). Almost every stock TR that I've seen has the (big) steering wheel tipped into the full up position (yuck!) to get enough leg clearance under the steering wheel.

If your J. Todt's height, you wouldn't need one, but IMO even an average height US male has a better erogonomic position in a 308 or TR with a moderate (25mm~30mm) extension -- since I'm a little taller, I did a 2" (2-piece) extension for my ex-308 (the jpeg shows my ex-308 with the 2" extension and a 320mm Momo Veloce -- note how far down the steering wheel is tipped -- I prefer "submarine" to "bus" ;)).

PS I mentioned the OD sizes of the extension because TR and 308 have slightly different steering column hub designs, and although either will fit either TR or 308, IMO 86 for the TR and 80 for the 308 are best. (Last time I checked, Hill Engineering/Ricambi America carry the 80 mm size while www.ogracing.com has the 86mm size)
