    looks great.

it's annoying that there's been no reviews by the press of these cars just to illustrate how capable they are.

I like Ultima but there were a few of them at track days in 2000s and they usually broke down. Havent seen one since.
So not practical as street sports car or reliable as a track car either so limited as a Sunday morning canyon carver or show car which is petty much what an f40 would be.

Ive never sen a kit type car hold up on track. its all the little bits and details that go wrong because it has not been developed for that enviroment and systems stress. The ultima is also essentialy a road car in term of ride height, springs and shocks. So to make it really work on track would take a quite a bit of development even as a street legal package. Ive seen this with Ultimas, Nobles, and ariel atoms. They lack the type of development an durability you get in say a Gt3.

Appealing idea, but in the end a kit car for the road with a great hp to weight ratio. Theres so much more to a track car. Now if someone had been racing one of these and developed all the weak links which you could piggy back on, that would be great.

Sin cars makes a similar concept that actualy races, and even then theyre not going to be turnkey reliable on track.

Cool concept, love to have one, but for track it needs to be developed by someone with patience and budget first. Plus there are very few drivers on planet earth who can exploit that power to weight ratio anywhere near the limit with no nannies and minimal aero. the modern surecars and race cars with close on that power to weight have lots of nannies for a reason. So in the ultima unless youre at mario andreti levels you would always be holding back.

For the road, at arounf 150k you have a f40 beat. Mercury racing makes a quad cam ls7 from the c6 zo6 with 800hp and a 7500 redline. Ive thought about it a lot.

Would be great if ultima offered a fully developed track package, they dont.

I looked extensively into the RCR SLC. They have been racing for years and seem to have a very well developed package. The kit can be had with a/c and heat. A couple of builders do automatic doors, reversing and rearview camera systems, and reasonably nice interiors. Most of them end up in the $140,000 range delivered ready to go. Katech does a LT5 E85 tune that puts down 1,000 hp.
