A question for our friends in the UK:

In the USA the cost of insuring superbikes is very reasonable, at least from my 45 year old perspective. I have heard the rates are punishing in the UK. Anyone with personal experience with insuring R1s, 916s, 996s or big Gixxers for example?

(I insured a 916 and a MV Agusta F4S for a few hundred bucks each per year in NC)

Hi Michael, just rang a pal of mine who's got a 10 month old honda fireblade,he's 36 and pays £300 third party fire and theft,i had a new R1 when they came into the uk i had free insurance with that, should have been around the £500 mark fully comp,Michael it a depends on the area you live in in the uk to how much theft risk there is,and this alters the cost's,hope that may be of some help,

    cheers
