Remarkable car, remarkable price. There’s already a thread about this - maybe mods will merge.

From what i've read recently, with 135 million euros, Mercedes will create the Mercedes-Benz Fund, a global scholarship program that will provide educational and research scholarships to schools and universities dealing with environmental sciences and carbon emissions.

Simon Kidston's brag/blurb on instagram is a good tell as to why they might have done it.

Basically, they are trying to go back to being perceived as "ultra luxury", and what better way to do that than to hold the record for most expensive car ever sold? They have another one, and enough money to buy it back if they ever wanted to (hard to explain to shareholders but still...). Meanwhile the whole world knows the most exclusive car ever sold had a 3 pointed star on its nose....

That's actually a pretty smart branding move.
i hope their future product lives up to the premise, and its not just cheap imagery, we've seen Mb do that before.I

Exactly. Selling the SLR is the "easy" bit....
