Hey everyone, posting this here as I’m always pleasantly surprised how knowledgeable the members are on the forum.

I’ve got a 599 HGTE and absolutely love it. Nothing compares to a Ferrari.

I’m looking at picking up a 2013 Gallardo TT from UGR…anyone have any insight into their reliability? This car was built for drag racing to the point it’s got a dogbox sequential tranny in it.

I believe it is built for 2,00hp+. I would be running 1,200 or less and not drag racing competitively.

Any thoughts on reliability? Possible issues? I’ve already called Lambo Detroit and they said they wouldn’t even change the oil in the car [emoji16], which means any issues and it’s getting shipped to UGR in Charlotte.

    Thanks for the insight.

Well there are cars that compare favorably to Ferrari……

I’m very sure you can find a solid indy repair place around Detroit. I wouldn’t want a dealer to touch a 10 year old highly modified car, and they don’t want to either.

In general, you don’t hear complaints about UGR street builds…..but this is not that. This is a purpose built drag car, so any discussion on reliability is as silly as asking an Aventador owner what kind of mileage he gets.

For street use, wouldn’t recommend it. For 1/2 and 1 mile events it sounds like a great time.

    Thanks for the input.

I’m getting the build details, I was assuming if the car was built for 2,000hp+ and I run it at 1,200 (or something much less then 2,000) it would be bulletproof since the car was built to handle 2x the power.

I don't mean to be a downer but a car like that will always have an issue and it may often have severe issues, you need to know that going in.

That being said, would be awesome to see it rolling around metro detroit hope you get it and I catch you!

[emoji106]. That’s when I park it and pull out the 599 [emoji41]. I suspect it could be a car that runs with no issues ever, but I agree…if an issue comes up it most likely will be severe. I’ll know more once I get the build details and see it. Stay tuned!

If it works out I’ll be at M1 Concourse for the cars and coffee…probably wait until the May meet…not the best weather in Detroit in March and April!!

from what i've seen they have issues, it's just something that can't be compared to an ordinary stock performance car

Any damage to your wallet as a result of your purchase of any modified exotic..is self inflicted. If you can deal with that..then purchase and enjoy. But you are not allowed to complain about it after. Deal?

UGR setups are very reliable. The issue is when owners get the cars and drive for a while and want more power pushing limits that don’t need to be pushed. UGR spent a lot of time building their name. Designing the turbo setup is easy but the amount of time understanding each motor and its limits to tune the cars right for reliability is so hard. Getting Air to fuel ratios right, timing right and safety cuts in case you over rev is why you spend the money. They use MoTec stand alone ECU’s which is top notch.

I love UGR cars. Very reliable.

Yes you can have the odd fuel line leak etc ..

    Overall very reliable.

Just understand you need to change the oil more often and plugs etc...
