Whats the story when we see these youtube video's of cars with UAE number plates on them here in EU?

Are they cars from UAE or are they new cars bought here and then "imported" to UAE to avoid the vat and just a number plate slapped on them and the owners keep them here?

Or are they really bought in UAE and these owners have a house here and just keep them here?

I know that many exotics in europe from UAE, are just on holiday..

On the other hand I know, that you can buy a car in the UK to "export" a famous one being a white one-77, it was sold from Aston Martin Park Lane, put on Bahrain plates but never left the UK, then went off its Bahrain plate and now back on a UK plate.

I think these cars are flown in by their owners for teh duration of their stay. I believe that the maximum duration is 6 months. Also, some kind of bond/deposit must be made to authorities which is then reimbursed once the vehicle is flown out.

Occasionally I see cars here in Germany on US plates. I suppose it's the same deal as in UK.

Los Angeles is full of cars with UAE plates too. When I brought my car to US from Europe I drove it close to one year with a temporally permission that allow to drive it for one year with foreign plates. Then you must go or legalize the car to US. Then also there are other kind of permissions for military, embassy, ... people that allow them to drive their cars with foreign plates for longer periods.
My opinion: not worth it, police pulled me over twice a day... show all the paper work, big insurance$$$, ...

I remember seeing a video on YouTube with some middle eastern oil baron (assumption) that had a private jumbo jet that had space to take his cars with him on his travels.

You can drive your vehicle around the world, all you need is proper insurance, international drivers license, and current registration.
