the XJ220 LM (one out of only THREE ever built !) shown above is up for sale: http://www.supercar-co.com/lineup.html Price tag: $300k approx.
2 of our "regular SoCal. cars (the black and silver'ish) are on display on Whilshire in B. Hills as of Thursday night. - Dan
What every happen to the 2 V12's that TWR had and the one that was sent too Austraila. Rest of them are V6 TTturbo and one can fill me on those 2 cars with the V12's
Yes these are cool cars but they are also the tightest fitting most claustrophobic cars that I have ever sat in.Not made for even moderate sized guys.We repaired a bunch of these for GNK in Santa Ana so yes I have sat in/driven them.Have to see it to believe it.
AFAIK, vintage Ferrari prices are unaffected by color changes or repaints. If you bought a 275 California Spyder changing the paint shouldn't affect the resale at all. Most/many have already been repainted anyway. Ask Jim G... the vibe I get from him is that other collectors will make the car WHATEVER COLOR THEY DARN WELL FEEL LIKE. Now *that* is power.
How tight? Lotus Elise? Boxster? Z3? Miata? F40? That's something I don't like to hear. It was a teenage favorite and I would have like to get one someday. BTW, the normal XJ220's on DR are asking $215-220k. I know DR prices tend to be higher asking prices, but weren't these trading in the $160-185k region?
As I was drooling over an xj220 ,the first I had ever seen up close my jaded co-worker said to me"Just open the door and sit in the car and then tell me what you think".Its true that I'm a big guy This was really snug and cocoon like . He knew what was up.I would probably start to sweat and hyperventilate if I drove it more than I ever did(around the block) I may be suffering false memories but I dont think so.
Guys guys guys, Was pulling out the petrol station on the A40 last night when i heard an almighty RARRRRRR! Turned round and the yellow UK TWR XJ220S drive by. Caught up with it so I got loads of footage of it on my phone so i will try and download it after collecting the software from home at the weekend. I imagine it must have been at the Autosport show in Birmingham at the weekend. What a car this is, cracking and banging with the throttle trailing, AWESOME. Bright yellow, clean as hell, turbo's whistling, in the damn rain too which was all good. Not sure if i can send an e-mail from my phone but i'm about to give it a shot. Anyone any idea what one of these goes for given there are i believe only 5 roadcars produced? Regards, Matthew
I saw the yellow one in the Keulyian Motorcars showroom in Beverly Hills back in June 2003. I'll include some pics below - sorry for the reflections on the glass. There were two regular XJ220s in the showroom that day as well - one in silver and the other dark blue. I also saw the silver XJ220S (or non-S if you believe the chassis history included here) at the AutoGallery Opening party and met the gentleman who financed the importation of all 5. I have some pics of it if anyone is interested. I haven't come across the two that originally started this thread yet, but I suppose if I do and then make the pilgrimage to Marconi I can say that I have seen them all. : Any word on whether XJ220S has actually sold one of his yet? >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Vahe, I didn't know how else to contact you so I'm taking a shot this way. If you would ever be willing to write something up on your two beautiful cars(driving impressions, history, pictures, videos, etc) I would love to feature them on a site I'm going to be launching in the next couple months. If you're at all interested please PM me or email me at [email protected]. Thanks. Sean Plunkett
So does this mean there have been two yellow S's at some point? The one i saw the other night is exactly how it was years ago, all yellow with yellow soked wheels and the roof lining being yellow too instead of the black as in the pic you posted. Regards, Matthew
It could mean that it's seen a few phases in it's life, but I don't think it means that there are two. The total number of these has been fairly well documented at five and I think the others are pretty much accounted for (except the one that has gone missing now from Marconi apparently). There's a much better chance in my mind that a new owner would have put the car back to it's stock configuration to ensure value. Some people certainly think that way as evidenced by comments made earlier in this thread. >8^) ER
The yellow XJ at Keulyian has black A,B and C pillars and black wheels and tail wing, whereas the authentic UK XJ 220S is yellow all over.

Hard to say - cars can easily be painted and repainted to suit a new owner's taste or return them to their original look. If the yellow one I photographed is now the same as the car now in the UK, then which one was it? I guess it could be the one that was listed in the chassis history as being "Orange" originally. = = = = = = Anyway, look what just turned up on another forum: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/1.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/2.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/3.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/4.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/5.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/6.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/7.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/8.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/9.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/10.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/11.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/12.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/thebluebusweb/13.jpg Quote from the guy who shared these photos: "Popped down my dads place the other day after he rang me saying something a bit 'special' had come in and thought i might be intrested. Its a Yellow Jag XJ220 with a difference. Normal ones costed about 250k i think, but this one cost £750k!! it was a special, for Tom Walkinshaw Racing. The guy who owns it, has 9...yes 9 others!! (normal ones) Its got a completely flat underside too which i thought was cool. Anyway a metal coolant pipe has broken and aparently thats an engine out job! so hence it being in the garage." >8^) ER
The red one has turned up at the Saratoga Auto Museum in New York. Exhibit info: http://www.saratogaautomuseum.com http://www.saratogaautomuseum.com/images/Supercar%20Images/Jaguar%20Large.jpg I would assume that this means that Marconi sold the car. Anyone know... >8^) ER
Vahe jan, Ches uzum kez kapnven martik? PM/email are disabled. I would love to see your Jags. Cheers!
