I know this is a stupid question but what is a 'Tubi' exhaust? Is it a brand or just a design. I hear people talking about Tubi exhausts and I've heard others talk about 'Tubi-style' exhausts.

I'm kind of confused by the whole thing. Can anyone explain what a Tubi is?

    Thanks

It is a company out of Italy. Yes they do make exhausts. Very good sounding.

Do a google or ask search and you will find the website.

    Good Luck

"Tubi-Style" is one of their brand names. It's confusing sometimes because "-style" implies that it's some kind of classification of exhaust systems.

Tubi is one group that makes add-on sports exhaust systems for cars.

The name is a derivative of the Italian term for exhaust- tubi di scarichi. Thus, the name "tubi" and the play off the word "tube".

Their product has been associated with Ferrari, because it is the F1 cars whose sound they try to emulate.

What is so interesting is that it is referred to as a "sport" exhaust which implies that it should be less restrictive that the original, but in fact it is not!

The sound that emulates from their product is a result of forcing the exhaust gases through smaller diameter internal passages to get the F1 sound.

So while many rush to get their very expensive product, the result is actually a reduction of performance with an increase of pitch!

When you hear the most glorious sound ever and then, a minute or two later, you see a 550 or 575M Maranello - THAT'S a Tubi...!

The tubi's for the front engined cars are more correctly engineered than they are for the rear engined cars.

So a 550/575 is going to sound great for that reason as well as for the fact that there is 8'-10' of tubing ahead of that resonator that tunes the exhaust pulses.

    Wow, beautiful piece.
Do you have sound clips of your tubis at idle and acceleration?
Does the car feel any more responsive at all rpm ranges?

Everytime I say Tubi-Style people think I'm referring to a replica of the exhaust.
