The Tilton 4 disc carbon race clutch dosn't like LA
freeway traffic...LOC thinks the new clutch supplied
only to 2006 6 speed cars might hold up....we'll see how long.
Clutch enroute should be in car by Friday

The sophisticated E-Gear computer doesn't recognize how the Carbon clutch wears/engages .So the two are fighting each other i.e.
    E-Gear warning light/safe mode.

At this point I'm ready to agree with Rakjoe...I'm tired of worrying
about what new twist is going to happen next...I just want un-interrrupted
    driving fun!

I know they did beef up the clutch on the 06's - but I would really wonder if it is enough (which I would really doubt) to handle the TT and power you now have. I hate that you will have to continue to be sensitive to quick starts, etc.

Can't they make a non-CF clutch to handle the extra HP and Torque without having the conflicts you have with the CF one? (I am obviously not a "clutch expert/engineer" so just a question...

Tilton could probably provide material with some "give". I will still be fighting E-gear computer. Think I'll try this first.. its only money.. wish I could
write it off as R&D expense. Maybe Heffner can? Think he will go this route on the Gallardo he has under the knife right now.?

LOC just notified me...new clutch arrived and will be in by days end.

I'm amazed. ordered friday shipped from factory Monday installed by dealer by wendsday..2 days from shipment to installation completion.

I'd like to see Ferrari parts distribution/Dealer service department match that....NEVER HAPPEN!

I too had custom discs made for my turbocharged 928S, and with a new Saches PP, it's not acceptable, and even barks as the plates engage, every time, in addition to skippy engagement. Unacceptable for traffic, tall gears, & brand-new steep driveways!

I plan to ask Kennedy "build" a higher-pressure pressure plate using the factory aluminum frame: this should work & hold 800lb-ft of torque. This is similar to what the 944 turbo race guys do: makes the clutch 2x the strength w/o affecting any feel/drivability.
    I'm not running your boost (yet), so I'm a mere 500/500 @ 7psi on a stock 5.0 engine.

Kennedy engineering is a top notch operation. Mr Kennedy is a pleasure to deal with and quite the engineer. I run one of his set-ups in my off road car. Hopefully he can help with your Porsche.

    Darrell.
