Hey gang, has anybody here weighed his 430 coupe and spider? I'm a bit confused. Can't find curb weight on the spider, but 430 coupe reportedly weighs 3,200 lbs, but a magazine just weighed the 458 and it weighs a whopping 3,500. That can't be right, is it? Wonder how the magazines weight the cars (probably full tank of gas), vs the manufacturer's numbers (probably empty). With an immense 25-gallon tank, we're talking at least 150-lbs of fuel.

My guess is the spider weighs in at around 3,400 lbs, but would like to know. I'd also like to know if the 458 weighs 3,500 indeed. Thanks gang.

do you mean wet or dry, and if "dry", dry for which fluids? (just gas?)

    And people or no people?

There is a big thread on this somewhere here I recall seeing.

I'd be surprised if a spider weighed less than 3500 with all fluids and a full gas tank and no people...

It's absolutely stupid to consider any weight other than with FULL fluids and all factory equipment IMO, ready to take a trip. You can always deduct some gas weight if wanted, but a freaking car doesn't run without gas, other vital fluids and battery (yes, some manufacturers define 'dry' weight with no fluids at all, no battery, no tools/spare/mats/filters/extinguisher/luggage/etc). And I don't doubt some numbers even exclude brake pads, tires, etc. Just stupid.

After seeing the 430 coupe check in at over 3,350, I agree.

Indeed. But didn't answer the one I was looking for < ha ha>, which was weight of the 430 spider. It has to be at least 3,500, but how much more??? More shocking, however, is the Italia coupe reportedly weighing that much, which is also absent from the table on the linked thread. Oh well. It was a good read though. Have a good one gang.

    A 2005 F430 in standard trim weighs 3,385 lbs.

Most cars have the Daytona seats, they add 21 lbs to a new total weight (with all fluid topped) of 3,406 lbs. A F430 Spider weighs another 154 lbs, or 3,560 lbs with Daytona Seats.

The F458 Italia weighs around 3,500 lbs despite of having standard CCB. In the F430 this option saves 28 lbs (standard from 2008+).

As a reference my Scuderia weighs 3,142 lbs bone stock with all fluids topped. On the fumes (enough fuel for a few Time Trials or autoX laps) it's under 3,000 lbs, and 2,976 with no fuel. Most of the advantage in acceleration from the Scuderia comes from the drastic weight reduction over the standard F430, rather than the extra 20 Hp or the faster transmission.

Does your Scuderia have any of the optional carbon fibre exterior panels- rear diffuser, front spoiler, engine cover and side skirts ?
From memory the Factory claimed a 22kg weight reduction for these.

My car is a 2009, so it has the Carbon Package (carbon diffuser, carbon front spoiler, carbon door sills and carbon headlight housings).

I don't have the optional carbon engine cover and carbon side skirts. Both of them save an additional 22 lbs and 9 lbs respectively. In ROW there were optional manual windows, no idea on the weight savings by having manual windows.

That was exactly what I wanted to know; thanks a bunch. So 3,532 with CCB, but probably 3,550 with the HiFi, leather options, etc. Not bad at all, when other spiders add 300 or so pounds. Thanks again.

Hey, the weight difference of the Scuderia is staggering. Manual windows would be sacrilege in my view :). Have a great weekend folks.

That's interesting. Your car at 1352kg is 2kg over Ferraris claimed standard dry weight of 1350kg despite having quite a bit of carbon fibre options fitted. Any idea what the "carbon package" saves in weight? I would guess something like 10kg?

Hey gang, found the curb weight in the manual ('06 spider): 3,395 lbs. Found another importanta piece of information, which confirms my previous suspicion: fuel tank capacity in the spider is 20.89 gallons, not the 25.2 in the coupe. Reserve is stated at the same 5.28 gallons, since both are obviously using the same gauge. That puts fuel weight around 130 lbs, for an approximate total weight of 3,525 lbs. Sounds about right, but would like to see precise measurements one of these days.

Was surprised not to see different weights for F1 and 6MT; with the same tranny, F1 should weigh at least 30 more lbs, no? And I bet that weight is for a 'base' car, but with optional CCBs, it should be about the same once you add HiFi and the leather options. Good day folks.
