I have a 2006 M5 that I bought used about 2 months ago. There is a persistent little vibration noise that comes from the steering wheel or on the steering column when I go over bumps. Commuting into NYC daily, you can imagine how many bumps I encounter! I can't seem to put my hand on anything to stop or lessen the sound. It could be coming from inside the center hub of the steering wheel where the airbag is. Does anybody have any tricks for locating the source of a noise like this?

I know the dealership will more proactive about fixing this if I can isolate the source. I've had sunroof noise from a 540 and an X5 in the past. They fixed the 540 and improved the X5. For whatever reason these noises drive me CRAZY. Any advice? -Brian
