    we will be travelling to paris from brescia, italy. staying 4 nights in paris. seeking recommendations of renting a car or taking the train. don't plan on sight seeing on way to paris as we will have much to do and see there.

    I would go by plane. Ryanair has a flight from Bergamo (near Brescia) to Paris for about 50 euro per person.

    From Brescia to Paris by train is a little bit like crossing Australia in kangaroo...

    Your real choice is between car and plane.
    As BB512 said the train trip between Italy and France is very long and impractical.

    Car: if you really like driving it can be fun. Just make sure you rent a suitable car. Also, renting in Italy and checking in in France can be expensive.

    Plane: would be my choice. Do NOT fly Ryanair, as they land in Beauvais (best case; worst case is Liège in Belgium). My advice: go to Milan and take a flight to Paris.
