I want to hear your thoughts. I am thinking about trading my '09 scuderia (white 2,800 miles) in towards a new performante. I know you guys will be a little biased, being on a ferrari forum. lol They are both amazing machines. I've been out of the car game for a little bit, don't want to make a stupid move.

If your Scud only has 2800 miles you aren't buying the car to drive but to sit in the garage so different criteria apply eg sculpture so if the Performante is more aesthetically pleasing to you today then buy it

    Greyboxer is right.
What are your intentions for this car?
It’s hard to imagine you’ve had much time to bond with the scud.
If you’re just looking for a fresh garage queen, go with what you like, not what others think as they likely experience their cars differently than yourself,

If you want to upgrade, why not go for a Pista? According to the stats, it'll be faster than the Performante. As an added bonus, it's still a Ferrari. ;)

I have a 16M and a Hurcan Spyder... while not a Performante, I'd suggest you drive the Lambo before giving up your Scud. The "base" Huracan is an amazing car, but every time I get into the 16M I remember why I swore I'd never sell the Ferrari.

I'll likely upgrade the Huracan Spyder to a Performante Spyder, but I won't sell the 16M.

Again, drive the Performante to make sure it's really the replacement for the Scud the specs say it is.

since you only drove 2,800 miles (if that, assume you are the first owner) in the last 9 years. it means you are buying it to be a garage queen. Performante is a new car, AND there are a ton of them out there. I was at a Cars and Coffee (PFS in SOCAL) today, there were 5 Performante, 0 Scud, 2 488. This means Performante value will fall like a rock for first couple of years..... you really want a garage queen that depreciates like crazy ? If you track it, I say go for it.

Thank you for your responses. Trying to elimate sellers remorse. I would love to get a pista, but i refuse to pay the big adm. Intentions are to drive it, with occasional track days. do you guys still look at the low mileage scuds as a collectors car, or has that time past?

When I first saw the huracan, I thought it was so beautiful. But, with time, I've lost the love for the design. I saw a perfomante up close at the Daytona race, and it looked like it was trying too hard, and lost the prettiness of the regular car. I wouldn't trade the scud, but buy what makes you happy. The performante has some real performance differences vs the superlegerra's, so I imagine would hold value well. I would like to add a Lamborghini, but lean toward a gallardo 550-2, and convert it to a manual....

Another thing to keep in mind: In my experience, Lambos don't have much headroom. I sat in a Huracan and at *only* 6'2" my head was touching the headliner with the seat in the lowest position. I haven't had such issues in Ferraris.

    THIS^^^

Make sure - since you say you will track it - that you fit inside the Lambo with a helmet on!

(no chance for me, bent neck and helmet hitting ceiling)

Trying not to judge, just curious. What is the purpose of owning a Scud other than driving it? And why would you be inclined to track a equally-expensive Lambo?

The odds are the Lambo - if driven and tracked - is going to depreciate a far bit. The 2800 mile White Scud likely won't depreciate from here, so that's something to account for...

Depending upon what level of driver you are (and how much risk you take), the Scud is perhaps a more rewarding car on the track (albeit a few ticks slower, but then we aren't racing at DE's). Maybe sell the collector scud and get a cheaper one that has been driven to track? (and put $$ in the bank).

I had a chance to drive Performante on the track. If you’re looking for track weapon, get the McLaren 720s. I’ve driven a lot of cars and I don’t think anyone come close performance wise. Around Thunderhill Raceway the 720s is at least a couple seconds a lap faster. Getting in and out of the 720 is also a breeze due to half of the roof comes up with the door.

I’m usually at the OC cars and coffees in my Scud nestled between my friends Perfs. I debated adding or trading for a perf until I sat in it. It’s certainly more comfortable, faster, objectively prettier but in the end I decided to keep the Scud. The visceral, noisy, crude interior and feel of the car is what really makes me happy. Perf is amazing and anytime I see one I get excited (we have about 5 in my group along with various lambos and few centarios). Best advice given is drive one. For me it showed me how much I loved my scud.
