I know there are many threads on this but the situation has been evolving. I used Open Track but they say they do not insure Ferraris any longer. Does anyone know where to get track day insurance on a Ferrari?!

Have you tried Hagerty? I know some folks who love using them, and they treated them well when they had a claim. I bought their track day insurance for my Boxster when I track it, but I’m glad I haven’t had to make a claim. I’m not sure about insuring a Ferrari for track days, but I have my normal insurance through them and they have been very easy to work with.

Yes thanks I called them yesterday. They no longer offer track insurance for Ferrari. I used to have no problem getting it but now no one wants to do it.

LMK, I attend Chin Racing events and there are typically several that provide track insurance, even the day of……

Unfortunately there aren’t too many of us Ferrari guys there, so the audience may not know that they won’t insure specific brands, though it sounds discriminatory to me, especially as it’s driver education.

    I’d say 90% are GT3 and GT4s and Vettes.

Thanks. I was using Opentrack the last few years and this year they stopped insuring Ferraris, Lambos, and Mclarens. Total bummer.

Did you look at your policy? Are you doing HPDE as opposed to Racing?

Take a close look at your existing policy. HPDE should be considered driver education and not racing.

Insurance for skyrocketing exotics is becoming a problem, track or not. I’m covered to that amount, and the rest is on me in the event of a problem.

Thus, my zeal to depreciate my car via use and miles as quickly as possible. While I hope to escape unscathed, in the event something happens it’s been a hell of a ride (literally).

I am reluctant to track the STO for this reason alone, but am dying to give it a workout.

I will be at an FCA event mid April and another Chin event soon and ask what others are doing. It seems most have dedicated track cars whose value doesn’t exceed the above mentioned value.

Ironically, there are likely fewer incidents in a controlled driver education environment such as rhis compared to the open road. It’s not racing.

Yes I feel more safe at the track then on the road but I'm also covered no the road if something crazy happens. I thought about going bare but can't quite bring myself to do it. Also, all of the companies find out that the value of my cars are over $150k and they won't even offer me $150 because they don't want to under insure.

Correct. I be State Farm, have been with them for well over 30years and they do not cover any vehicle not on public roads. No HPDE track driving, no Autocross and for those with Jeep that go off-road that’s not covered either. No car insurance company cover these activities other than those companies that offer HDPE Track insurance and that insurance is only for on the track and doesn’t cover driving on the street.

I’ve called every insurance company outside they ones that offer special track HPDE insurance and not 1 single company covers off public road, especially a track day or Autocross. Doesn’t matter anymore that it’s “not racing”.
