    One of the years I was there - 1979 or 1980 - the race was actually sponsored by an outfit called Lubri Lon.

    The city has known Toyota was leaving the area for at least 5 years. They actually moved nearly all of its final operations last year and were still the title sponsor for 2018. The real shame is that you would think another big company would want to take that title but there is no one as far as I know. Auto racing with ICE is dead! If LBGP turned in a Formula E event sponsor conditions would change rapidly.

    This is really bad news for the race. Toyota gave away thousands of free tickets and did a huge promo campaign for the event.

    They were more than just "a sponsor".
