I ordered a tow eye for track days. It measures out to 15mm in diameter but I'm pretty sure the mounting area on the front of the car is M14. Scuderia says it's the same part they send to everyone and they have never had a problem. It obviously is too large diameter and so does not fit and it's too late to send back.
Can anyone confirm the thread diameter and pitch so I can be sure to find the right part? Thanks, in advance. The part number I received is 155838.

I bought one off a 360 from a wanker who said it would work in my 430, it didn't.....

I replaced mine on a 430 and initially wound not fit, turned out thread in the frame needed a thread tap down to clean it out. The tap is a metric fine thread

I'll check again. I suppose it could have been dirty. But I could swear that I was told it's an M14 where is my caliper shows that my hook has a 15 mm dia threaded portion.

I took a lot out off the female thread to make it fit. I thing they make in 15 mm size anyway. But a 16 mm fine tap

Okay. Maybe I'm an idiot... The receptacle for the hook is on the driver side (US), just inside the front intake, on the bumper, correct? I'll have to find a tap that fits so I can clean the threads, as mentioned above.
Anyone know what the thread pitch is?
Thanks for all the input, guys. I assumed there had to be a simple explanations/user error.

I did but missed that part. Like I said: when it comes to this tow hook, I'm an idiot :)

M16x1.5 bolt/male has about 14mm diameter at the bottom of thread and 16mm diameter at the top of thread.

Potentially overkill procedure but something I like to do with clogged internal threads:

    1) Start cleaning of the hole spraying some rust-off products and follow with a cylindrical metallic brush.
    https://boltclean.com/thread-cleaners/irb-series-static-internal-thread-cleaning-brushes/

    2) After that apply liberally some lubricant, eg. WD40 or similar and use carefully appropriate threading tap, in this case M16 x 1.5

    3) Thread in the intended bolt, the tow hook in this case. In case of tow hook hole, you might want to put in some anti seize and cover it to prevent it to get clogged again.

It’s a 1.5 mm thread- that is what I meant by a fine thread. A normal thread is a metric course
Be sure you get a plug tap and not one of taper type

I'll try cleaning it out, but I'll also get a video of what's going on.
My toe hook really does look to be about a millimeter larger.
I'd love for it to just be clogged with so much dirt and grime but that is my problem.
I will be more than happy to be wrong :)
