Awesome spectacle of cars. Nice shots Zain. Jerry is an awesome guy. Although low key a mint BMW Z8. I hardly see those cars anywhere. They are worth over 100k.
Thanks for the info. You should try to get it to show up at next year's Italian Car Day... It would look great parked next to Giovanni's S2 Cabriolet!
The Z8 is a garage queen. Hand built. About $190,000 new. Original owner. Production numbers were pretty low on that car. They are still fetching about $120K-$150K Pretty sweet car for those who know what it is. In 2000 BMW promised to make parts for the Z8 for 50 years to add to its collectability.
Kicker with the Z8 is a flaw that can see the shocks bend the frame. There is a repair/re-enforcement kit. It has neon rear lights. Underneath it is the M5 power train. I love the look of that car. I recall Matthew Perry from Friends wrote his one off when he got it. I was looking at getting one of these, but then changed my mind when I saw the issues (even compared to Ferrari).
Is it the same as the E36/46 rear sub-frame issue? If so, it's not that big a deal and one not all that common despite it's notoriety. My 2001 330Ci had developed a minor crack after 200,000kms and plenty of track days. Nothing a couple hundred couldn't fix with the reinforced welding kit. I absolutely adore the Z8. Such a rare and beautiful machine, easily the highlight for me along with the FordGT out of those pics. What a car.
I agree. Especially with the M5 drivetrain from that era which I love! I drove a 2002 Z8 in like 2003 I believe. That silver on red car was a dream to drive. Then off to Calgary it went...
Did a panorama stitch on the group in the cul-de-sac. Full size on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ferrariartist/6255628713/sizes/o/in/photostream/ GT Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mario, I haven't had a chance to see all the photos until today!! great drive, well planned and great hospitality from the boys at Daytona!! ciao Felice
Nice going Elan. Great video & I noticed you missed a turn & went off the route a few times. Also some scary passing at times. I see a lot of cars got stuck at railway crossing at the start. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMCki4_3HMI[/ame] How long was the wait???????????????????????????? Holy crap the guy in mustang caught up to you Elan!!
Yep, we were the first car in the right lane to get stuck (Esteban's red 308). I think we counted 25-30 minutes.
reasons for missing turns was due to poor navigation from a certain Maser in front lol ... and that Mustang was a GT500 ..
