I have a 63 Corvette roadster that was one of the first C2's raced. It later was mildly customized and participated in a number of car shows. Brought it back to life and took it for a drive in AZ.

I just bought a 65 last fall. I said I would not have another Corvette unless I came across a white mid-year roadster with red interior. Well...

Steve, love the Avons (and the car). I think I am going to put them on my 65 as soon as I burn off the junk tires I have (having fun with burn outs in the meantime). Everybody I talk to says that they are really sticky and are the only tires to have with the stock 15” wheels. Do you agree?

I live in N. Idaho, and the roads are actually quite good for the most part but lots of construction going on and debris gets dropped. Let's just say they do find, pick up and sling everything on the road. LOL

I also recommend the Avons-I run them on my 67(seen here in the den of the enemy) ;)

I run Avons on my Superformance Cobra. They are the best 15" tire available. Costly, but the best...

Thanks Randy and Steve. Yes, I know the price of Avons (almost pulled the trigger a few months ago until I decided to burn off my current tires first). I am a Michelin Pilot Sport guy on all my cars but I also love the looks of the faux knock off wheels on my 65 Vette. So I have come to the conclusion that the Avons are the only thing that will give me the performance of the Michelin’s and allow me to keep the 15” wheels. Thanks very much for the reinforcement since I have never even seen a pair let alone driven a car with them!

I run Pilot Sports on both my GT's and the are sticky as hell. Not an option on the 15" kidney beans and they wouldn't look right anyway IMO.

Yes, Pilots are excellent tires. Unfortunately not available for vintage sizes and the "look" is off. Michelin does make a very good treaded vintage race tire_even more expensive than the Avons!
I also run the Avons on my F V F Ferrari P3. (with stenciled vintage Firestone logos!)

Nothing more beautiful than a 50's/60's Ferrari design. Nothing,

Johnny, beautiful Cobra!!! My favorite color.

If you want to run Avons but like the old school white lettering I know someone who put Goodyear lettering on Avons. Turned out pretty well IMHO.
