    Greetings F-Chatters!

I was at my local dealer yesterday looking at an F430. Too my horror, I found that the car was on the small side and that my legs would touch the steering wheel even when it was moved all the way up. I'm 6'2". Am I gonna have to give up the dream? Any bigger owners out there? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

6'6" 220lb and I have a 360, standard seats. I fit ok in a Modena and the head room is a little tight in a Spider. Race seats make it all good.

The steering wheel is adjustable up and down plus in and out. Perhaps the seat was up high, they can be adjusted up and down and also for rake. I can't believe someone 6-2 can't fit comfortably.

I saw a former NBA basketball player driving off in his new F430 from my dealer today. He must have been at least 6'5 and it looked like he fit fine.

Maybe you are taller than you think? :)

I'm 6'3 and I have no problem either. The trick is to put the base all the way back and then the seat back as far as it will go. I won't bulls--t you, I'd like a few more inches so that I could lean the back of the seat back a little more. I'm hoping the new 450 will improve this. The Scud and or sport seats give you a couple more inches.

If it's really your dream, as it was mine, and you can afford it, then just do and trust me, you'll fit like a glove!!!

one other thing, if you just try out the chair in the dealership you may not notice the manual adjustment for lateral support present on at least some seats. Its a big knob on the inside side of the seat. I found that once the seat was wide enough, I almost fell into it another couple inches if you know what I mean.

The fit isn't just a question of height as some people have very long legs for their height and some are the opposite. Myself, I'm only 5'10" and have to move the seat far enough forward that ingress/egress is problematic. And yet it feels like the top of my head is at least as high as the top of the windshield, even with the seat lowered to the max.

BTW I've enquired several times without response, but try again: anyone know a hack to lower the Daytonas in an F430 Spider?

I'm over 6'5 and fit in my Modena just fine. Haven't tried the 430, but I couldn't imagine it being much different.

I seriously don't get how some of you taller guys here say it's a tight fit in the 360 spider. I guess I'm used to driving smaller cars and being wrapped in place in the driver's seat. The 360 spider has a LOT more room in it than the Corvette I had before it. I'm 6'7", 250 lbs. Maybe I position the seat differently that some of you; tilt the back forward, move it all the way back, then recline the back into the firewall very tight. I even have power Daytona’s in my spider, which I've heard give the least room.

I also have a 328; that IS a tight fit!

I don't know how you tall and big guys do it. I'm 5' 10" 173 lbs and I feel claustrophobic in my cs.

I guess because none of us know how it feels to REALLY have a lot of room in ANY car. ;)

Plus we look really goofy dancing with short girls. Or maybe that's just me. ;)

Im 6.0 and fit ok. I do find i feel i'm riding too high in my coupe (daytona seats). I sat in a Scud recently and it felt perfect. Lower due to race seats and being manual adjust. You don't need room for all the motors underneath. If i had a spider it would be just fine.

Have to disagree here. I own a Spider and have driven a few coupes. There is more head room in a coupe, I would guess it is as much as 1" extra. I believe that the difference has to do with the curvature of the top. The coupe curves a little but a Spider top is pretty much flat across.

Gurney Bubble or just get ejected from an F-18, that should tighten things up a bit.

Didn't know that. I guess my perspective was from the fact that I'd be driving it with the top off MOST of the time. I can see your point with the top on.

Is the difference daytona seats to race seats which sit lower?

The race seats are a good deal lower. The Daytona's with power sit higher for the servos. But, Like I said, I have the power Daytona's and fit fine at 6'7".

I'm almost 6'10 and I don't fit too bad in my friends 360. I think when I do buy my 430 I will try and find one with race seats. As well I have talked to a customization shop in my hometown and there are a few options that can be done to achieve 5 inches of head room. It can easily be done, and at 6'2 you should have no problem.
